Lynching, Prime Minister

Case has been filed against cultural leaders, writers etc. fro writing to the Prime Minister against lynching of dalits, muslims etc.

Is writing to the Prime Minister of the country anti-national?

The Prime Minister himself should clear the atmosphere by taking necessary action to get the cases withdrawn.

Prime Minister warns tax evaders

penalty, Prime Minister, Tax Evaders

NEW DELHI: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday used his ‘ Mann ki Baat ‘ radio programme to deliver a stern message – don’t evade taxes and come clean by September 30. Modi also used the platform to mount an attack on the Congress to mark the 41st anniversary of the declaration of Emergency.
“In our big cities, when we see some of the houses that are worth crores, there seems to be some discord. Some people make well over 50 lakh rupees a year, but don’t declare it. They do this to avoid paying their taxes. I am calling on all of them to come forward and declare their true incomes and pay their taxes by September 30,” said PM Modi in the radio address.
“There will be no leniency after that,” he added.” (Courtesy: Times of India)

Declaration is well taken! But what about action? Both NDA and UPA governments have declared umpteen times about catching the tax evaders; But nothing has been done. It is only the salaried people who are paying the taxes correctly. Most of the rich, business barons, corporates evade the taxes either by crook or cheating. They are never punished, because they are close to the ruling parties and donate liberally to their election funds.

Common people are not interested in EMPTY PROMISES!

New Delhi, Sep 26: CPI (M) today hit out at Narendra Modi over his recent dig at “secularists”, saying it is “completely unbecoming” of the Prime Minister and was unprecedented for a person holding the top post to “settle” domestic political issues when abroad.

CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury also said it was “unfortunate” that the Prime Minister has undertaken “so many” foreign visits and quipped that since Modi has spent “more time” abroad, he is finding little time to settle domestic political issues when in India.

“It’s completely unbecoming. As a Prime Minister of our country, it has never happened that the domestic political issues have been settled by the Prime Minister abroad.

“Now it’s a different matter that Modi is spending more time abroad than in India. Therefore, he may not have time in India to settle the Indian political issues, so he is doing it abroad,” Yechury told reporters.

The Rajya Sabha member said it is “unfortunate” situation that the Prime Minister has undertaken “so many” foreign visits during the 16-month tenure.(PTI)

Prime Minister addresses ILC – No decision on labour issues

ILC, Labour, Prime Minister

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 46th session of Indian Labour Conference today, 20th July 2015, and assured that the concerns of the trade unions will be taken in to consideration on labour issues. But there was no decision announced.

It is very different when speaking in the meetings/conferences with the corporates. Decisions in favour of them are announced. But nothing for the workers in the Labour Conference.

Of course, the government have different approach to the haves and have-nots, the corporates and the workers. The issue is whether we are to tolerate such discrimination?

Prime Minister meets Central TU leaders, gives assurances

CTUs, Prime Minister

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the leaders of the 11 Central Trade Unions on 19th July 2015 and gave assurance that their 12 Point demands will be considered by the Government. But no definite assurance was given on accepting the demands including the minimum wage of Rs. 15,000 for contract workers, on social obligations etc.

The Central TUs have given a call for complete strike on 2nd September 2015 on the 12 point demands which they have been raising for the last few years and on which the government have not taken any favourable decision. The independent federations of CG employees, state government employees, PSUs and private – all workers are going to participate in the strike which is expected to be the biggest strike in the country so far.

Assurances of the government can be believed only when they are implemented.

Post Card, Prime Minister

As per the call of the Central executive Committee of AIBDPA, pensioners have started sending hand written Post Cards to the Prime Minister requesting early settlement of the 78.2% IDA pension fixation and restoration of medical Allowance to the BSNL Retirees. Today, I also send the Post Card. Those pensioners, who have not sent the Post Card may kindly send it immediately. Let tens of thousands of Post Card reach the Prime Minister and understand the resentment of the pensioners in the delay in settlement of the issues:

Matter to be written in the Post Card:

Respected Sir,

I request your kind and early intervention for the settlement of the following long pending burning issues of BSNL Pensioners:

a) The benefit of 78.2% IDA Merger granted to BSNL employees and to those retired after 10.06.2013 be extended to BSNL pensioners retired before 10.06.2013

b) The quarterly medical allowance stopped unilaterally be restored to the BSNL pensioners.

To

Shri Narendra  Modi,

Hon’ble Prime Minister,

Govt. of India, South Block,

New Delhi – 110001

BSNL Casual Contract Workers, Prime Minister, Varanasi

BSNL Casual and Contract Workers Federation has addressed a letter to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi informing him about the wage slavery of the BSNL Contract Workers in UP and especially in Varanasi, the constituency from which he has been elected. Only Rs. 1500 – 3000 are paid where as they are eligible at least about Rs. 7,000/- at the lowest. BSNLCCWF has requested the PM to look in to the matter and ensure implementation of minimum wage, EPF, ESI etc.

Will the Prime Minister or his Office have time to mete out justice to the hard working casual contract workers?

India belongs to the people not to the Government – PM

Prime Minister, PSU

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his radio broadcast today is reported to have stated that India belongs to the people and not to the government.

We completely agree with the statement of the Prime Minister. Only one question. If the country belongs to the people, then why the PSUs, which are also part of the country is being handed over to the corporates and private bigwigs for meagre sums, against the strong opposition of the Unions and the people.

Privatisation of Railway Stations ?

04 Friday Jul 2014

Prime Minister, privatisation, Railway Stations

In the name of improving the Railway Stations in the country, the NDA government seems to be in the process of privatising them or at least allowing private participation. This is what can be assumed from the speech of Prime minister Narendra Modi while inaugurating the Katra-Udhampur train in Jammu and Kashmir.
The case of Airport is there where Mumbai and Delhi Airport has been entrusted with private companies from the Airport Authority. While Airport Authority did not charge anything from the passengers, the private companies are charging hefty amount. In addition everything connected with these airports have become costlier. From tea and coffee to parking as well taxi charges.
If private participation is allowed the same thing will be repeated.
The people have to think whether privatisation of railway Stations is necessary?
