30th April – A day to be remembered

30 Monday Apr 2012

Two historically important events on 30th April make it significant.

One is the down fall of the Fascist Hitler. He started the II World War in 1942  invading and conquering other Europen Countries. Later he attacked the Soviet Union.  But the Soviet Red Army after much casualities turned from defence to offence and kicked back the Nazi forces back to Germany. The Red Flag was hoisted in Berlin on 2nd May 1945 heralding the end of war for Germany. When Hitler understood he has lost he committeed suicide on 30th April 1945 itself. The tragic end of the Fascist who threatened the world.

The second is the liberation of Vietnam from the clutches of the US imperialist vultures. After sustained and determined guerilla warfare by the Vietnamese, the highly sophisticated and brutal army of the US was utterly defeated and Vietnam liberated on 30th April 1975, 30 years after fall of Hitler.

Both incidents are liberation for the people. Both had a significant role in history.

Central TUs on struggle path

29 Sunday Apr 2012

The central trade unions  BMS, INTUC, AITUC, HMS, CITU, AIUTC, TUCC, AICCTU, UTUC, LPF and SEWA had met on April 26, 2012 under the chairmanship of Shri Sanjeev Reddy, president of INTUC at his office.
The meeting expressed its deep concern at the refusal of the central government to call the trade unions for discussion on the demands on which the country had witnessed a massive general strike on 28th February, 2012 of the working people as never before in independent India, once again confirming its gross insensitiveness to intolerable distress of the working people are facing today, particularly the contract, unorganized, casual, agricultural workers in the urban and rural areas.
It appears the government is bent upon continuing the same anti-people economic policy, even seeking to enact legislations that run contrary to the interests of the working people, also undermining  the public sector of the country.
If the government moves in this direction, the trade unions will organize instantaneous massive protest.
The meeting while taking note of the precarious economic situation of the country, lowering of the rate of economic growth, sharp decline in the industrial production, steep rise in the price of essential goods and commodities which shall surely affect the working people, their employment, wage and working conditions, has decided to further intensify the struggle that is continuing over years, shall decide the time and form of the agitation at the earliest after each of the constituents has deliberated over the issue.

Bengaru Laxman, former BJP President convicted in corruption case.

28 Saturday Apr 2012

Posted by VAN NAMBOODIRI in Corruption, Uncategorized

In a big backlash for the BJP, its  former President Bengaru Laxman stands convicted by the CBI Court for accepting Rs. one lakh bribe. This scam was exposed by Tehelka through a sting operation. BJP was attacking the Central Government on the Bofors scam yesterday.

It has been amply proved more than once that both the BJP and the Congress are fully covered by the dirt of corruption all over.
