17TH FORMATION DAY ANNIVERSARY OF AIBDPA!

The formation of All India BSNL DOT Pensioners Association in 2009 was a great forward step not only for the BSNL – DOT Pensioners, but also for the entire CG Pensioners..

In the formation Conference itself, it was clearly stated by its leaders that AIBDPA will not limit its activities to usual petitions and memorandums, but will resort to militant trade union actions for achieving the demands of the pensioners..

It has been loyal to its Manifesto all these years and organised a number of agitational programmes in furtherance of its demands and achieved an excellent Pension Revision wef 01.01.2007, 100% pension liabilty of Central government instead of 60:40 ratio between Government and BSNL, settlement of 78.2% DA/ DR, restoration of Medical Allowance since 2017, cases of SC/ ST in Maharashtra Circle, claims of VRS Pensioners etc. etc…

It maintains the great tradition of NFPTE with its progressive outlook and united struggles…

AIBDPA is part of the National Coordination Committee of Pensioners Associations ( NCCPA ), Forum of Civil Pensioners Associations (FCPA), Joint Forum of BSNL / MTNL Associations etc. etc…

AIBDPA is a Founder Member of the Trade Union International ( Pensioners & Retirees ) which is affiliated to the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), the mighty organisation of the workers all over the world…

Comrades Ananta Kumar Bhattacharjee and K G Jayaraj, the Founder President and General Secretary led the AIBDPA as a fighting pensioners organisation, which is now led by senior Comrades M. R. Das and R. Muralidharan Nair in the same path….

As one of the comrades who initiated the formation of AIBDPA and is part of the same , I also feel proud that AIBDPA is fulfilling its historic responsibility of serving the pensioners in achieving their justified demands and rights….

The Central Governments, both of Congress and BJP, have been trying to take away the rights and benefits achieved through years of united struggles. Fixed Medical Allowance is stopped, DA/DR is being delayed, Pension Revision wef 01.07.2017 is not implemented despite continuous struggles, the anti – pensioner Pension Validation Act is passed …

29 Labour rights, won through continuous struggles, are changed to 4 labour codes, which are completely against the interest of the workers. Efforts are being made to divide the workers on religions, castes, regions etc…

The youth and students along with the support of the left and many other political parties are in a historic massive fight for the constituional rights of people, against denial of right to vote etc etc…

It is at this tIme that we are celebrating the 17th Foundation Day Anniversary of AIBDPA. It is an opportunity to hold meetings, discuss the pressing issues as also enrol new members etc..
