It is very rarely that you get one more chance to read the books you have read much early, years before. Now I am at Calicut for a few days, I went through the book shelf and found out certain books to read. I selected ‘My Story’ written by Com. Jyoti Basu, the Communist leader who was PB Member of CPI(M) since its inception in 1964 and the Chief Minister of W.Bengal for a record period of 23 years.
It is not a big book and covers the period only up to 1952, the time of the first general election in the country. It is written in simple English and is a narration of the period from his young days, school life, study in U.K., Communist work in UK and after returning to India, arrests, jail, underground life, parliamentary work and so on. To tell frankly, I read it in one sitting; it was so interesting.
By reading the book, you can understand how a small boy from a well to do family reached to be one of the top leaders of the CPI(M) and a leader with charisma.
I am happy that I could read the book once again.

Dear Vashishth,
As I have intimated earlier, the issue of compassionate ground appointments have been seriously taken by the union, but the condition made by the Supreme Court that only 5% of the vacancies can be filled up by CGA candidates is creating problem as also the points required for the same. Please take up the case with the Circle Secretary of BSNL Employees Union of your circle( You have not mentioned the Telecom Circle in which your father worked.). You can also write to Com. P.Abhimanyu, General Secretary, BSNL Employees Union, Dada Ghosh Bhawan, Opp. Shadipur Bus Depot, New Delhi-110001 with all the details.
Yours Sincerely
