ON 11TH JULY 2016.
New Delhi, June 30 : The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:
The pay hike for Central government employees announced by the Central government has been disappointing. Based on the Seventh Central Pay Commission’s recommendations, there is only an increase of 14.2 per cent in the emoluments in terms of gross salary and the increase in the take-home pay is just 7.4 per cent for the lowest category. The Central Government has deferred the decision on the revision in allowances.
The ratio between the lowest and the highest scale continues to be wide with the ratio being 1:14.
It is unfortunate that the government did not consider it worthwhile to have discussions with the employees’ organizations before making the announcement on salaries and pension.
The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) demands that the government hear the views of the employees organizations in the matter and on that basis to make a revised announcement.
Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri, President, BSNLCCWF and Com.K.G.Jayaraj, General Secretary, AIBDPA met Smt. Sujata Ray, Director (HR), BSNL on 30-06-2016 and discussed the following:
1. Regularisation of 455 casual labour of Odisha Circle who were approved by Corporate Office earlier.
2. Unresolved issues of BSNL pensioners including restoration of medical allowance, reduction of rent for quarters for pensioners, broadband to pensioners and settlement of pension anomaly of seniors getting less than juniors.
Director(HR) agreed to look in to the issues.
According to the Consumer Price Index released by the Labour Bureau, the IDA will increase by 2.4% from 01-07-2016 and the total IDA will be 114.8%. Orders are yet to be issued. There was no increase of IDA in the last quarter.
A report has come in a newspaper that NITI Ayog has recommended closure/selling of loss making PSUs, including BSNL. It could not be confirmed from any other source.
However, there is always danger to the PSUs including BSNL. BSNL unions and Forum have to be most alert about fresh attacks from Government, which is anti-PSU and pro- corporates.
Hundreds of BSNL employees are retiring today, 30th June 2016, as usual every month. My Best Wishes to all of them for a Happy Retired life with family and friends!
We welcome all of them to All India BSNL DOT Pensioners Association (AIBDPA) to ensure their connection with BSNL and for settling their issues.
AIBDPA is the biggest organisation of DOT BSNL Pensioners. Join it and be part of the great fraternity of pensioners!
