Jharkhand will leave the past and will win this time

31 Sunday Mar 2013

BSNLEU Jharkhand has its own problems with the membership verification as it was not the first and biggest union so far. In the first verification it got only 103 votes out of a total of 4400 and was in the IV position. From the second verification it jumped in to seconnd position. Despite FNTO leaving the alliance we maintained second position in both IV and V verifications. Now we are on the path to touch the first positon. Either BSNLEU Jharkhand will reach first position  or will be marching toward that position with much increased votes.

The first Non-Congress Govenment at Centre

Emergency - one party rule - Congress

It will seem interesting and unbelievable that for thirty years since Independence, India was under a single one party rule. The Indian National Congress was ruling the country from 1947 onwards till 1977 when it got completely defeated at the hands of the newly formed Janata Party, which came in to being during the draconian Emergency, under the leadership of Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan. The formation of a non-Congress government completely changed the politics in the country. Since then, it has been mostly  coalition Governments whether it is led by Congress, BJP or a combination of other parties as under the Prime Ministership of V.P.Singh.

Now nobody can even imagine a central government by a single party. Nobody can get more than 30% on their own strength. The local (state level) parties have become strong. Sometimes they dictate the ruling party, since without their help the latter can not be in power.

What Com. E.M.S.Namboodiripad predicted years earlier had come true. The single party rule in India is over. It can only be coalition governments.

Com.AKG

Dear Comrade, Your life was dedicated to serve the cause of the millions of toiling masses. Wherever there was injustice, sorrow and exploitation, you reached there to wipe the tears, to fight for their cause and to end injustice and exploitation. I was fortunate to get your affection, guidance and direction. Comrade, you fought against thdraconian National Emergency even when you were seriously ill and yes, the people put an end to that Govt. decimating it in 1977 general elections. But you did not know this as you were in  coma and fighting for your life and passed away leaving millions and millions in deep sorrow. On your 36th death anniversary I place a few red flowers with a lot of inspiring memories. Red Salute to Com. AKG, Captain of the toiling masses!

Bhagat Singh- Martyrs

On this day,23 March, 82 years back, India was witness to the greatest sacrifice of three young men at the altar of freedom and self respect for the country. The three youngmen hanged by the  British imperialists on 23 March 1931 are Shahid Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru. They faced death courageously with Inqilab Zindabad
as their last call to the people. Red Salute to the Eternal Martyrs!

Refund of Spectrum Charges to BSNL – Delay is unacceptable

BSNL - Funds - Finance

Yesterday, 19th March, along with other comrades, I have gone and met Shri Umashankar, Joint Secretary (T), DOT to enquire about the refund of the BWA spectrum charges, since the spectrum has already been vacated by BSNL. We were told that the government (means Finance) has not taken any decision so far despite requests for the same by the DOT. In the same way, the allotted amount of Rs. 1500 crore in lieu of ADC also has not been released by the Finance Ministry despite demand from the USOF and the DOT. This is the information that we could understand from our meetings with the Administrator USO Fund as also from the Additional Secretary, DOT a few days back.

Why Finance is sitting tight on the funds? It is the fund that is to be paid to the BSNL. BSNL is in financial difficulty. Even GPF Advances are being delayed. There is difficulty for procuring equipments. In such circumstances the casual way in which the Finance Ministry is dealing with the issue is completely unacceptable.

The Finance Minister has to immediately look in to the matter and release the funds for he BSNL, before the Financial year is over.

Concluding Rally of Sangharsh Sandesh Jatha

Rally by CPI(M) - Left Parties

It was  red sea spread over the Ram Lila Maidan in Delhi in the morning of today, 19th March 2013. People who have come from all parts of India to participate in the Sangharsh Sandesh Jatha organised under the auspices of the CPI(M) were waiting patiently for the starting of the Rally. They have come even from far away places after one or two days journey. The pandal erected for the participants to sit were decorated with red flags and and banners of the party.

On one side of the pandal, the stage was constructed which was high enough for all the people to watch. The stage was decorated with red flags and banners, and also the demands raised in the Sangharsh Sandesh Jatha. The leaders of the CPI(M) along with the leaders of other Left parties were in the stage.

By about 11.30 hours the meeting started. Com. Prakash Karat, General Secretary CPI(M) and the Leader of the Eastern Jatha started from Kolkata, inaugurated the rally. He spoke on the major crucial demands raised in the Sangharsh Sandesh Jathas viz. The Right to Food, The Right to Education and Employment, The Right to Health Facilities and cheap medicines, The Right to House sites and for land reform and the Right to a life free from discrimination on the basis of caste, community and gender. He briefly explained the  experience of the jatha. Coms. S.Ramachandran Pillai, Brinda Karat and Sitaram Yechury,  Leaders of the Kanyakumari, Mumbai and Amritsar Jathas respectively also spoke and narrated the inspiring experiences and the reception by the people in many places on the way. When Com. Manik Sarkar, Chief Minister of Tripura, whose fantastic victory in the recent assembly elections have enthralled the people, started addressing there was spontaneous clapping. Com.  Biman Basu also addressed. The Rally concluded after Com. Prakash Karat announced the programme of dharna, demonstration, picketing of central/state govt. offices etc. in May 2013 as a contiuation of the Jatha.

Today is the 15th Death Anniversary of Com.EMS Namboodiripad,  former General Secretary of the Party, and it is appropriate that the Rally is conducted on this day itself.

It was a well disciplined rally, despite a huge gathering. The Red volunteers guided the people to sit and move around. Except the PBMs, Leaders of left Parties and the speakers, other leaders were sitting below in special places arranged for them. Along with Coms. K.G.Jayaraj and Adhir Kumar Sen, I was sitting near the stage and could watch the proceedings clearly. My thanks to the Red Volunteers, who even brought tea and biscuits for us.

The issues raised in the Rally are most vital to build a New India free from hunger and with good health and education. It is the duty each and every person to work and struggle for ensuring the same to the toiling masses of the country.

Let Us March forward to build a New India!

Manifesto of the Communist Party – 18 March 1848

Communist Manifesto - Karl Marx - Engels

Manifesto of the Communist party was published on 18th March 1848 jointly authored by Karl Marx and Frederick Engels. As Engels stated in preface to a later edition, the publication of the Manifesto coincided exactly with the two revolutions in Europe viz. Milan and Berlin.

The Manifesto of the Communist Party in very precise terms explains the then existing situation and the method and strategy to be adopted for revolution. It states in the first few paragraphs  the intention of the book: ” It is high time that the communists should openly, in the face of the whole world, publish their views, their aims, their tendencies, and meet this nursery tale of the spectre of Communism with a Manifesto of the party itself. To this end, Communists of various nationalities have assembled in London, and sketched the following manifesto to be published in English, French, German, Italian, Flemish and Danish languages”

The Manifesto starts with the revealing sentence:” The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of Class struggles”. This statement is then explained in detail with facts and figures.

The Manifesto ends with the following sentences:” The Communists disdain to conceal their views and aims. They openly declare that their ends can be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions. Let the ruling classes tremble at a Communist revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. Working Men of All countries, Unite!”

Millions and billions of people of many  generations have been enthused and inspired by the Manifesto. Most of the  revolutions in the world have got inspiration and strength from the Manifesto,  including the Russian and Chinese revolutions.  Even after 165 years it is still relevant, though certain aspects may require further explanation in the present situation.
