Good News ! All those transferred in connection with Contract Labour agitation Kerala, brought back to Circe Office.

All the comrades who were transferred from CGM Office to other offices in connection with BSNLCCWF agitation have been reposted to Circle Office. It is a great victory for BSNLEU & BSNLCCWF. All other transfers, suspensions, etc. had been cancelled earlier. Due to the agitation the daily wages of contract workers were raised by Rs.80 – 100, but union leaders were victimized.

Hearty Congratulations to BSNLEU & BSNLCCWF comrades of Kerala for the great victory !

Victory for BSNLCCWF Chhattisgarh – Rs.2.79 crore paid towards EPF by BSNL Management.

Victory for BSNLCCWF Chhattisgarh – Rs.2.79 crore paid towards EPF by BSNL Management.

The EPF Appellate Tribunal, New Delhi in it’s order dated 20.10.2016 has dismissed the appeal filed by CGM, Chhattisgarh circle against the decision of the Assistant Provident Commissioner, Chhattisgarh directing the CGM BSNL to remit Rs.2,79,19,404 towards EPF contribution of contract workers. The order will benefit the Contract Workers.

The apathy of the BSNL Circle Management can be understood from the fact that out of total 84 hearings since 2005 by Assistant Provident Commissioner, Raipur, only very few hearings were attended by BSNL representatives.

Our Hearty Congratulations for the victory of Chhattisgarh BSNL CCWF & BSNLEU  Comrades

Safeguard the deposits of the people in the Banks

Reports are appearing in the newspapers and media almost everyday about the hacking of the ATMs and cheating of crores of rupees by cyber thieves. Of course, the banks may refund the money stolen, but it will be only in the cases, where they are reported/complained. What about the depositors who have not checked or do not know to check?

ATMs are convenient. But it is also charged after certain withdrawals or are charged when withdrawn from the ATM of another bank. The Banks are getting benefitted by ATMs, since the staff can be reduced and they will get the ATM usage charge.

It is the responsibility of the Bank Managements that the ATMs are made safe to the extent possible. The saying that “Thieves are always far ahead of the Police” may be true,. But the Police have to improve fast to catch the thief.

Act Strongly to recover NPA – Arun Jaitely, Finance Minister to PSU Banks

Arun Jaitely, Finance Minister, has asked the PSU Banks to take strong action to recover the NPA (bad loans) from the defaulters with out fear. Such an assurance should have been given long ago. The lakhs of crores of rupees of NPA has been accumulated year after year due to the compromising position taken by the Bank Management, Government and interested and influential politicians. The hard earned money of the common people put in the banks are ‘gifted’ to the corporates, rich and influential people through liberal loans without even sufficient and adequate security.

The government and the Banks should not only declare their intentions, but should act firmly. Is it possible when it is from these same corporates and rich that lakhs of crores of rupees are collected as donations for elections etc.? There should be very strong pressure from the people on the government to get it implemented.

It is also necessary that  High level Judicial Enquiry is conducted in the matter of NPAs and the culprits punished.

TRAI impose Rs. 3,050 crore on private telecom companies for not providing POIs to Reliance JIO

The influence of the Reliance owned telecom company JIO on government and even on TRAI is well known. The latest is the decision of the TRAI asking the Department of Telecom to impose fine on the three telcos viz. Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular for not providing Points of Interconnection (PoI) to JIO, the company owned by Mukesh Ambani, the richest Indian. Bharti has to pay Rs. 1,050 crore, Vodafone Rs. 1,050 crore and Idea Rs.950 crore. The fine is calculated on the basis of Rs.50 crore for each circle denied of PoI. The importance of COAI (Cellular Operators Association of India) seems to be lost after the entry of JIO.
