Save BSNL Campaign

The Forum of BSNL Unions/Associations has given a one month campaign of SAVE BSNL from 8th June 2015, by utilisng the “09.00 PM to 07.00 AM Free Call Scheme” and the “Free Roaming Scheme” introduced by BSNL. The CMD BSNL has also agreed to fully co-operate with the programme of the Forum. The Forum has listed the activities, propaganda, work etc. that have to be carried out during this period to improve services, improve relations with customers, clearance of early faults, procurement of equipment etc.

Out of this  month campaign, already, three days are over. I hope that the campaign has already started in right earnest. It is in this context that each BSNL employee should review what he has done for the campaign.

Time lost is never recovered. History does not pardon anybody who missed the opportunity. Here is an opportunity to save BSNL. Every body has to be part of this big campaign. Wake up and act! Excuses do not take anybody anywhere.

SAVE BSNL, SAVE NATION (10) – Allot Spectrum Free to BSNL

Save BSNL Campaign

BSNL is a fully government owned company. At the time of the formation of BSNL, it was assured by the government that all help and support will be provided to the telecom PSU to maintain its financial viability. All those promises have been broken by the government.

At least the spectrum can be given free to the BSNL. The government has got more than Rs. 1.10 lakh crore from the recent spectrum auction. This is much more than expected by the government.

In these circumstances, the government can easily allot spectrum to BSNL free. It will help revival of BSNL in a big way. We are demanding that spectrum should be granted free to government company, BSNL.

Save BSNL Campaign

The SAVE BSNL Campaign is on the move and strengthening. The Circle Conventions have already held in Chennai, T.Nadu, UP(E), Punjab, Kerala, A.P., Karnataka, Bihar, Rajasthan, NE-I, NE-II and TF Jabalpur. The Convention is fixed in  M.P. All these Conventions have been well attended and the All India leaders who participated spoke in detail and explained the demands as also the need to organise the Parliament March on 25th February and Indefinite Strike from 17th March 2015 a complete success. The signature campaign on the memorandum to be submitted to the Prime Minister is also being organised.

But still majority of the  circles are yet  to conduct the Conventions. The Signature Campaign has not caught steam. So far, none of the signatures collected have been received by the Forum. Except in a few circles, the Campaign has not started seriously. It should start immediately and all the signatures collected should reach the National Forum at least at the time of the Parliament March so that it can be codified and submitted to the Prime Minister.

2015 – Can we make it a Year of Revival for BSNL ?

Save BSNL Campaign

The private  telecom operators and the corporate sector have been stating that the telecom industry was in much distress and difficulty in 2014, by the delay in auction of the spectrum, tax issue of Vodafone, Nokia etc. and also non-governance. Now their spokesmen are predicting that 2015 will be a good year since the situation is being changed lately. The issue of Insurance ordinance, Ordinance of Coal Mine Auction etc. has gladdened the corporate and big business.

What about BSNL and its workers? The aggressive implementation of the anti-labour acts, privatization and disinvestment of PSUs, PPP in Railways, Increase of FDI in Insurance sector are againt the people of this country. The Modi government will continue this line.

What the BSNL Workers can do to strengthen BSNL and make it a best service provider to the people. Maximum effort on the part of each and every worker is necessary.

While strongly opposing the anti-BSNL and anti-PSU policy of the government and the inefficiency of the top management, the workers and their organisations have to work as crusades for a better service to the customers despite equipment crunch and difficulties being created by the government and the management. Provide the best service with the available infrastructure and fight for getting more equipment  and infrastructure.

2015 is a crucial year in the revival of BSNL. The Forum of BSNL Unions and Associations have planned for serious struggles for the Revival of BSNL and for better service. It is not a ritual one. The BSNL workers have improved the services, but  much more has to be done. It is a crusade and we have to involve ourselves for the important task.

LET 2015 be a Year of  Revivlal of BSNL. SAVE BSNL Campaign should be strengthened.
