While many of the foreign countries have two days off in a week, in India it is still 6 days week. Many MNCs and private companies in big cities are having five days week in India also. This will save electricity and also will cut costs. That is why the demand for five days in BSNL is also fully justified. BSNL Management should think about the same.

It is reported that the Labour Ministry is proposing to fix the minimum wages at Rs.10,000 to the contract workers. This is nothing but cheating the hard working workers. According to Dr. Akroyd’s formula, the Minimum Wag comes to Rs. 26,000 as demanded by the Central Government employees. The VII Central Pay Commission did grant only Rs. 18,000. The Central Trade Unions have demanded that at least Rs.18,000 should be granted as minimum wage to the contract workers and the ‘Equal Wage for Equal Work’ should also be introduced.
But ignoring all these genuine demands, the Labour Ministry is proceeding to fix the minimum wage to Rs.10,000, which is only a very small increase from the present. There should be strong protest against this cheating of the workers at the behest of the employers and the corporates. BSNLCCWF expresses its strong protest at this injustice.
At least a minimum wage of Rs. 18,000 should be fixed immediately.

It is very clear now that the the Central Government, while shouting at top hitch that strict action will be taken against hoarders of black money in to tax heaven and unlawful foreign accounts etc, is actually trying to delay and weaken such actions. Whether it is collecting the Rs. 20,000 crore tax arrears from Vodafone or Rs. 12,000 crore tax arrears from Nokia, or taking action against the black money put in tax havens exposed through the Panama Papers or Swiss Accounts by rich and influential persons violating tax laws – the government is dilly-dallying. The statement of the Finance Minister Arun Jaitely or RBI Governor Raghuram Rangarajan and others in power that ‘questioning of legitimacy of self-made wealth is dangerous’ and ‘strict actions will discourage foreign inflow’ etc. are only to help these law-breakers and tax evaders.
This one again proves that the government is the ‘government of the corporates, by the corporates and for the corporates.’ Expose the unholy alliance of the corporates, the government and the super rich, who jointly exploits the common people.
