In all important centres, CITU and connected trade unions are organising and observing the WFTU Day on 3rd October 2015, which also is the 70th anniversary of its formation. In many places it is jointly organised by all the Left Trade Unions and unions like BSNLEU, Confederation of CG employees etc.
Casual contract workers and the Circle/SSA units are called upon to participate in these point programmes in maximum numbers. WFTU is the militant organisation of the world working class.

3rd October 2015 is the 70th Anniversary of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), the militant organisation of the world working class.
WFTU was formed on 3rd October 1945. There has been a big change in the world after the II World War, which saw the freedom of many colonial countries. World organisations like UNO, WHO, UNESCO and such institutions started one after another. It was at this time that the WFTU also was born.
During its 70 years, WFTU gave inspiration and guidance to the working people and their organisations. Many Trade Union Internationals (TUI) are affiliated to the WFTU. WFTU has got affiliated unions in most countries.
70th year of WFTU is being celebrated throughout this year. On 3rd October 2015, massive rallies, meetings, conventions and such programmes will be organised.
In India also, the day will be organised and celebrated in a big way.

| A WFTU Mission headed by Paola Palmieri, leader of USB Italy will visit Lugansk, Ukraine on 22-25 September to express the solidarity of the 92 million workers represented by the WFTU in 126 countries to the people and the working class in Ukraine against the imperialist aggressiveness.
The WFTU Mission will meet with the Trade Union Federation of Lugansk People’s Republic, express the internationalist solidarity and support of the international class-oriented trade unions in their struggle and welcome them officially in the WFTU family as a newly affiliated Organization according to the resolution of the WFTU Presidential Council held in Geneva, Switzerland on June 2015. With public statements, appeals, protest letters and international activities, the WFTU has expressed “its indignation on the crimes and barbarities of neo-fascists in Ukraine” and has clearly stated that: “a big part of responsibility of the crimes in Ukraine is bear by USA, NATO and the European Union who support and assist the Government of Neo-fascist forces in Ukraine.” The WFTU denounces the reactionary Government of Ukraine which with the support of powerful business interests has brought great suffering to the Ukrainian people. The WFTU denounces the violation of democratic and political freedoms such as the persecution of the Communist Party and its activity. During the last years India has met great financial rise. It is member of BRICS, has nuclear arsenal and space program. But this financial boom is not a benefit for most of the one billion people of India. Skyscrapers are built next to the slums. Extreme wealth is gathered next to starving people. While the rich become richer, the wretched are once more the victims. The growth of the capitalist economy is always based on the escalation of the exploitation of the working class. Today that India and its bourgeois political forces take pride on the economic and military strength of the Indian Nation; the vast majority of the people live the contradiction of pauperization.
In these conditions the struggle and the demands of the Trade Union movement of India is just. The WFTU affiliates in India have been preparing this strike for months, showing the determination and the will of the class forces to mobilize the great force of the working people. The success of the National General Strike in India, on September 2nd will be a success for the working class of the world.
Especially this year, when the WFTU celebrates its 70th Year Anniversary, we would like to highlight the historic contribution of the class trade union movement of India to the World Federation since its foundation. It is a fact that without the struggles and the contribution of the trade union movement of India, the international class trade union movement would not be the same.
The WFTU expresses its internationalist support and solidarity to the struggle of its Indian brothers and calls all trade union organizations of WFTU to stand in solidarity with the National Strike of the Indian working class.

the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) has expressed its strong reservation and protest against the intensification of co-operation between Greece and Israel. An expert from the statement is reproduced below:
“The WFTU considers the intensification of the cooperation between Greece and Israel not only dangerous for the Palestinian people who are daily suffering from the Israeli Occupation. This co-operation is dangerous for the general peace around the Mediterranean Sea. Mediterranean Sea is threatened by this new development. This is part of the imperialist plan for Higher share from the exploitation of the wealth-producing resources.
The military relationship of Greece with Israel not only undermines the Palestinian People and the people of Lebanon, of Syria, of the whole North Africa and Promotes the studs of the Imperialists for the so called New Middle East.
The WFTU demands the Greek Government to vote in the Greek Parliament the recognition of the Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as capital as per the borders of 1967 to denounce the Israeli Occupation and to end the military cooperation and the training jointly with Israel.
Also, the WFTU demands the cancellation of the plan of Offering of a Greek Island to NATO, to use as wide military base.”

The Executive Secretariat of PAME denounces the Mayor and the Municipal Authorities of
Kalamata (city in the Southern Greece) for demanding PAME to pay a fine of almost 1000€!
The infringement they accuse PAME of, is “creating pollution by using banners” to call to
demonstrations against the new, brutal Memorandum of SYRIZA and the anti workers’
measures that destroy our lives!
The absolute silence they demand; the attempts to create obstacles in people’s mobilization
only prove that they are with the side of the capitalists.
PAME, its forces, are not intimidated, are not subjugated! Steadfast, militantly they stand
against the capital, the EU and their servants in every level. Central, regional or municipal.
We return your fine back at you! Send it to the capitalists and the Government!
We call the working class of Kalamata, the self employed, the small farmers and especially the
youth, in spite of our differences, to rally with PAME, the social alliance and strengthen it. To
strengthen our common action against those who want to destroy us, the European Union, the
monopolies, their political parties, and their servants, like the Municipal Authorities of Kalamata.
They support the old and New Memoranda, the anti workers policies, the extreme taxation to

| A week ago, the World Federation of Trade Unions held in Brussels, inside the European Parliament, an important International Trade Union Conference about the consequences on the workers and trade union movement of the policies of embargoes,blockades and discrimination imposed by the EU, the NATO, the USA and their allies.The participants of the Conference proved with evidence that these policies of the imperialists against peoples and countries have always the workers, the youth, the women and the pensioners as their final victims, depriving from millions of workers the hope that they can build their future with dignified work.
It was also proved that the embargoes, blockades and discrimination have nothing to do with democracy and freedom. These words are used as an excuse. They use them hypocritically. In reality, we are talking about competition within the capitalist system, for rivalries and contradiction within the imperialist system, which happen for the control of the markets, the definition of new borders between countries, for new energy pipelines, for the profits of transnational corporations and of the monopolies.
Another thing that proves the hypocrisy of the imperialists is that from the ILO list of countries whose governments are accused, Colombia, Israel and the USA are missing. In these countries, governments violate basic human rights, since trade unionists are assassinated, there is discrimination even concerning who will enter a public transport bus, policemen who kill African Americans, firing without any reason, are acquitted. The World Federation of Trade Unions, that celebrates this year its 70th anniversary, will steadily continue in all international forums intervening based on its principles, its internationalism, the values of international solidarity. It will continue standing by the side of the People of Venezuela and the efforts of the government of President Nicolas Maduro Moros until the final defeat of the imperialist efforts. It will support the right of the Syrian people to decide democratically for themselves on their present and future, without external intervention of thousands of foreign mercenaries from the five continents. We will continue to demand the punishment of those responsible for the death of 48 innocent people in Odessa, Ukraine, when neofascists set the building of the Trade Unions on fire. We will continue to express our solidarity in practice with the imprisoned trade unionists in the prisons of Asuncion in Paraguay. We demand the immediate release of Colombian trade union leader Huber Ballesteros, who is still imprisoned in the Colombian prisons. We are ready to cooperate, coordinate and support Peoples and unions who are victims of blockades. We must fight together to stop the blockades, embargoes that aim to plunder the natural and economic resources. We must uncover the geostrategic games that generate unjust wars and millions of refugees. We must steadily promote the position of the class oriented trade union movement that the natural resources must belong to the peoples, be social property and function for the improvement of the live of the simple peoples. Only through the struggles of all of us, we will be able to build a future with dignified work for all. The WFTU stays loyal to these principles for 70 years now, and based on those principles that today have a more timely and rich content, we call upon all militant trade unions to fight together.

One of the remarkable initiatives undertaken in honor of the 70 years of militant and internationalist struggle of the WFTU is now completed.
The WFTU in coordination with Hellenic Post (Public Postal Company of Greece) has printed and released a Special Collectable Stamp for International Mail in honor of the WFTU’s 70th Anniversary.
Organizations and trade unions interested to receive the stamp can send their Postal Address in the email:press@wftucentral.org . A letter from the Central Offices will be sent to them with the Special Stamp on the envelope.

NEPAL, SOLIDARITY
The World Federation of Trade Unions -WFTU- is following closely the recent developments in Nepal after the catastrophic earthquakes that left thousands dead and its impact for the working class and the people of the country. The WFTU affiliates in the country have also paid a heavy toll by losing members and trade unionists from this disaster.
We extend our deepest sympathy to the families affected by this tragedy. WFTU has supported morally and materially the Nepali people and union movement after this disaster. The WFTU feels the need to keep solidarizing with the Nepali people in this time of need and calls to support the local union movement and its efforts to rebuild the country and help it recover from this disaster. We support the demands of the Nepali trade unions, of WFTU affiliates in the country, that the Government of Nepal and all concerned agencies, national and international organizations provide assistance in rescue and relief initiatives. We urge the Government of Nepal to ensure the fundamental human needs, while managing post disasters activities. We request that the government takes actions of reconstruction and rehabilitation in a sustainable and permanent way, according to the modern needs of the workers and the people in the country.

The World Federation of Trade Unions honors the 70 years since the Antifascist Victory of the peoples on 9 May 2015.
A high-level delegation of the WFTU is participating in the celebrations in Moscow, Russia to pay their respects to the people and the heroic working class of the Soviet Union who sacrificed the most with more than 20 million dead in the war against Nazism and Fascism.
9 May is a symbol of the great victory over Fascism and Nazism which in the times of the II World War seemed impossible to many. However, the enormous military power of German and the Fascist Axis (Italy and Japan) despite the immense support received by the German and International Monopolies were defeated by the organized resistance of the peoples and the role played by the Soviet Union -who at that time was in a temporary alliance with the USA, France and Britain.
The II World War was a result of the great intensification of the contradictions and the competitiveness between the capitalist states over the natural resources, the markets and the redistribution of the control over the world. (WFTU Report)
