UN Votes against Terrorism

Resolution, Terror attacks, UN

The United Nations has unanimously passed a resolution against terror horrors and terrorist attacks and called upon its member states to prevent further attacks and eradicate its safe havens straddling the parts of Iraq and Syria.

‘The vote in the Security Council came barely 24 hours after the text was presented in New York by the French ambassador to the UN, Francois Delattre. Stunned by the attacks of one week ago in Paris, the French government had correctly calculated that sympathy and a new sense of crisis in the chamber would trump months of dithering and division on the combined issues of ISIS and the Syrian conflict.’ (Courtesy: TOI)

Palestine Nationhood, UN

It is really unfortunate that the United Nations Security Council failed to adopt the resolution on the approval of nationhood to Palestine and membership to UN.

The long-anticipated draft tabled on Tuesday night drew the support of eight countries — Argentina, Chad, Chile, China, France, Jordan, Luxembourg, Russia — just one shy of the nine needed to pass a resolution in the absence of a veto by any of the Council’s five permanent members.
The United States and Australia opposed the resolution while the United Kingdom, Nigeria, South Korea, Rwanda and Lithuania abstained.

Who are supporting Nazism and neo-Nazism is clear from the following report of the adoption of a resolution in the UN General Assembly on 21st November 2014:

“The UN General Assembly on 21st November 2014 adopted a resolution urging countries to adopt more efficient measures to struggle against the glorification  of Nazism and other forms of racial discrimination, xenophobia and intolerance.

A total of 115 out of 193 UN member-states voted in favor of the document.  Three countries opposed the document – Canada, the United States and Ukraine. Another 55 delegations, including from the European Union countries, abstained. Germany was one of the abstaining.

The resolution expresses concerns over the spread across the world of various extremist political parties, movements and groups, including neo-Nazis as well as racist extremist movements and ideologies.

The text also warns against glorification of the Nazi movement and former members of the Waffen-SS organization and erecting monuments and memorials to them.”

US and only two of its chamchas still like to bring back the Nazis!

The Israel government is continuing its bombing of the populated Gaza strip killing hundreds of innocent people, destroying hospitals, schools and mosques. Almost 200 have been killed and thousands wounded.
The united Nations should take immediate action to stop this murderous attack by the Zionist Israel. India should demand the UN to take such an action.

24th October, Formation Day, UN

The United Nations Organisation (UNO) came in to being on 24th October 1945, 68 years back. It was formed by the five major powers US, Britain, USSR, China and France with support of another 46 nations.
It was immediately after the II World War, that the UNO was formed. This war was the most fierce war so far, which took away the lives of crores of military and common people. In the end of the war, US dropped the Atom bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki destroying these two cities entirely with the people.
UNO was formed to maintain international peace and promote co-operation in solving international economic, social and humanitarian problems.UNO have many subsidiary organisations.

During the last many years, especially after the collapse of the USSR, there is the opinion that UN is being unduly pressurised by the US for taking certain decisions which actually crate conflicts in the world. The UN was not able to stop the Afghan, Iraq, Libya wars by the US. However, UN is the only organisation, which can do something to save peace in the world at present. It should be strengthened and converted in to a strong organisation capable of maintaining world peace.

Malala Yousafzai: “I am here to speak up for the right of education of every child”

Malala Yousafzai invokes Mahatma Gandhi in her UN speech

Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani girl shot by the Taliban, has told the UN that books and pens scare extremists, as she urged education for all.

Speaking on her 16th birthday, Malala said efforts to silence her had failed.

She was shot in the head on a school bus by Taliban gunmen because of her campaign for girls’ rights.

The speech at the UN headquarters in New York was her first public address since last October’s incident in Pakistan’s north-western Swat valley.

Malala has been credited with bringing the issue of women’s education to global attention. A quarter of young women around the world have not completed primary school ( courtesy : Media reports)
