Posted in BSNL, Wage Revision BSNL - 2017
Long ten years are over after the last wage revision for employees in BSNL. It is only because of the hard and dedicated work of the employees that BSNL could withstand of the onslaught of the private telcos and improve the service and increase the connections. Even after the colossal efforts of Reliance Jio with its deep pockets to drown all other telecom companies, BSNL has maintained and improved its position by the joint efforts of the management and the workers. The ITS officers in BSNL has already got pay revision on the basis of the VII CPC. III PRC has recommended pay revision for the executives in PSUs. But no discussion has started yet on the wage revision of the non-executives. This will demoralise the workers who are putting all efforts for the improvement of the company.
It is good that the BSNL management has recommended to the government for implementation of wage revision for executives with 15% as recommended by the III PRC. It is only logical that the management should start wage negotiation for the executives. BSNL Management should seek and get approval for starting wage negotiations at the earliest.

It is reported that the Government has decided to close down 12 out of its 17 Government of India Presses. It is to be mentioned here that the decision is against the recommendations of the Standing Committee of Parliament consisting of 32 M.P.s of different parties. It is understood that the government rejected the committee recommendations and decided to close down.
Day after day the BJP government at the centre is closing down/privtising / selling PSUs and implementing the capitalist corporate agenda, as demanded by the MNCs and Indian corporates. Already 17 lakhs job has been lost due to demonetization etc and the closure will result in further loss of jobs.
Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers have called upon all C-O-Cs and Affiliates to organise protest demonstrations at all Centers and Dharnas in front of all Government of India Presses and send resolutions to Prime Minister.
Our full support and solidarity to the fighting comrades!

The BJP government has stated that they will move the Women’s Reservation Bill in Lok Sabha in the winter session of the Parliament. Well and good. The same was passed in the Rajya Sabha in 2010, but both the UPA and the NDA governments did not take any interest afterwards. Left parties and the Women’s organisations have been demanding for passing the Bill early, but the government kept mum. This is a genuine demand. Let us hope that the government which has got good majority in the Lok Sabha pass it as promised.

I have the habit of reaching in time or in advance for all appointments, meetings etc. May be due to the long experience in working shift duties, where puctuality is most important.
But what happens in most of the functions is different. Sometimes it takes half an hour or more to start the same. Sometimes it is even more than one hour. How much time is wasted. Can this be got changed and punctuality get the better. It will be better for all concerned.
