After salary of the employees, the second biggest expenditure in BSNL is that of electricity, diesel and petrol. This comes to thousands of crores of rupees. BSNL in financial crisis and the target should be to increase the revenue and reduce the expenditure.
The biggest expenditurein BSNL is the salary of the employees. It can not be reduced. However, by withdrawing Medical Allowance with out Voucher, Restricting LTC, not increasing the rates of various allowances, denying Bonus etc. the BSNL Management has reduced the expenditure, though the staff side did not agree.
Now what about the second biggest expenditure; expenditure on energy. It can be reduced to a certain extent. Install solar energy wherever possible. Reduce the expenditure on car by officers by sharing travel. The petrol and diesel expenditure can be reduced a lot. The lights and fans in the offices can be switched off when nobody is there. ( In many offices, it is seen that the lights and fans are on, even when nobody is there).
By circulars and directions alone this can not be implemented. Each and every worker has to take care that energy is not wasted and is used only when required. The BSNL Management can organise a “Save Electricity Month” with careful planning and see how much expenditure on energy can be saved. The same with petrol and diesel also.
Make 5 days week in all bsnl offices and install all exges with solar electricity.
The Union took up 5 days week with the management several times but the demand was rejected.
sir we want to make bsnl strong and healthy psu and for that we need minimum infrastructure to carry on our exchange…there’s not a single AC in our switch room which is too much sensitive machine room… since 2 years we are applying for fixing the problem to the head office but they are just not even a single moment careful to such problems due to which landline customers are facing continuous problems and we are losing our connections day by day…its around 168 connections that has been surrendered or we’ve lost since mid of 2013…authority is still disinterested of providing any support in the name of financial crisis to us and thats only because this is a rural exchange
sir if there’s a need to reduce the expenditures of electricity, petrol etc then what should we supposed to do? can we leave our responsibility on the bsnl officials over here to let those customers lose??
expenditures here can only be reduced when we get it sufficiently. please take a note of that district offices and rural offices of bsnl is facing so much problems that even corporate office, respectable cmd sir and Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad can’t imagine. and honestly there are no such way to fix these grass root level problems
Dear Comrade, We should get the required supply of electricity, petrol and diesel. But at the same time unnecessary use of these are to be curtailed.
sir we are not receiving those minimum equipments which is mandatory for serving at least 1889 land line customers, 68 broadband customers spreaded here all over the block…by what method can we stop using unnecessary use of fuels or electricity when the supply of such requirements is absolutely unavailable to us to operate our telephone exchange????
The CMD had stated that equipment are available. Kindly intimate the SSA / Circle where there is no supply of equipment and what equipment and the requirement. We can take up with the management. There has been improvement in procurement of equipment in General.
there are no such financial help by which we can fix a problem at night due to low voltage or anything else if it persist to the area because HO is completely absurd to our complaints of having at least a single bulb. situation is very poor and getting poorer gradually
NEED OF THE HOUR IS NOT SOLAR INSTALLATION. SOLAR INSTALLATION REQUIRES REGULAR MAINTENANCE IT IS AGAIN ONE WHITE ELEPHANT FOR BSNL. “SAVE ENERGY” IS NOT NEW SLOGAN. IT IS OLD ONE AND FOR EVER.
REQUIREMENT IS SENSIBLE PEOPLE.
Save energy is save money. I have seen myself in many places how the electricity is being wasted. Nobody will waste in such a way in their own home.
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT SIR. EVEN WHEN WE SWITCH OFF SOME PEOPLE SEE DIFFERENTLY. BUT I AM CONVINCED MYSELF. LET THE PEOPLE BE SENSIBLE.
