The casual & contract workers in W.Bengal are sitting on 48 hours dharna at Kolkata demanding regularisation of the left-out casual labours (numbering 2270 in WB alone), wages as per the government orders etc. The dharna is being held from 29th August onwards. Leaders of BSNLEU and BSNLCCWF have discussed the above issues several time with the management but without any results. Hence the Dharna. Coms. Animesh Mitra, Vice-President, BSNLCCWF and Dy.GS, BSNLEU, Tapas Ghosh, Secretary General BSNLCCWF and others are leading the dharna. We demand the management to discuss with the union and settle the issue without further delay.
Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri, President BSNLCCWF and BSNLEU has sent message to Shri A.N.Rai, Directort (HR), BSNL demanding to intervene and to settle the issues.

At the outset, We convey my best wished and regards to you and also pray for your well being and achievement of your unfulfilled demands.
It is needless to add that the actions so far been adopted to fulfill the demands of the employees is praiseworthy and the methodology exerted to bring out the best results is quite specific beyond question.
But, it is very much embarrassing that despite of putting all out efforts to fulfill the demands in respect of the casual labouers/TSMs in BSNL, no efficacious outcome have been experienced so far and thus it has become Penelope’s web.
One point always elevated before us by noticing that the severe programs / agitations are adopted to fulfill the demands related to regular employees, on the other hand to fulfill the legitimate demands of casual labourers/TSMs, the identical steps are not being exerted and it is presumed that this is the only set back or impediments before the target.
Moreover, the salary that is paying to all casual & contract labourers not with the conformity of GOI notifications and the management stepping towards all sort of violations without any hesitation and it is more regretting how the salary can be paid on CDA basis while the casual labourers are working in BSNL for BSNL and this sorts of discriminations should invariably be precluded by way of dragging all references of GOI notifications.
Finally, the most burning issue of regularization of casual labourers, in BSNL we have been working from DOT era and the department has engaged the labourers for the interest of DOT/BSNL and most important point is that the we have rendered our service with utmost honesty and all our high time extended towards the department with an anticipation that the service will be regularized. So, now most of the us have crossed our prescribed age to divert for other opportunities and at this juncture, if the management bring forth the excuse by quoting that the regularization of the casual labourers can not be entertained on the plea of Supreme Court Verdict (Uma Devi’s case) this is nothing but stringent enforcement for committing suicide as a last resort.
As such, we are under untold mental sufferings as the management put us in the hot water and we are not finding any lucrative state of mind to leave sigh of relief.
Hence, it is our earnest prayer for taking result oriented measures in this regard so that long awaited legitimate demands may come to an end and we receive our due justice.
