Monsoon Session of Parliament adjourned sine-die

Monsoon Session of the Parliament has been adjourned sine-die, without much work done. The NDA government is fully responsible for the wash-out, since it is because of its adamant and arrogant stand that no action will be taken against the the Cabinet Minister and two state Chief ministers involved in the alleged Lalit Modi issue and also Vyapam issue. The party which strongly protested against the corruption of Ministers in the UPA ministry, is trying to rescue its own ministers who are involved in scams.

Fidel Castro completes 89 years! Greetings to the Revolutionary who changed Cuban History.

Today, 13th August 2015, is the 90th Birth Day of the Revolutionary leader Fidel Castro, who created a new history for the Cuban people.

On his 90th birthday, the Communist leader has demanded the US government that it should refund Cuba for the loss   of millions and millions of dollars Cuba had to suffer because of the US trade embargo which was imposed about six decades back. This is a fully justified demand of the Cuban people.

In the same way, it is time for India to demand Britain for the return of the thousands and thousands of valuable books, antiques, historical artifacts, precious stones, gold etc. including the Kohinoor Diamond to be returned to India, which is the real owner. Will Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister, take courage to raise the demand in his Independence Day Speech at Red Fort on  15th August 2015?

CMD Meets Forum on Formation of Tower Company

Tags

,

A detailed meeting was held by the CMD BSNL with the Forum of BSNL Unions/Associations on the issue of formation of a subsidiary Tower Company, to be carved  out of BSNL. The Unions were told that it will be beneficial to the BSNL itself to form the tower company. The full details of the Cabinet decision are yet to be understood.

The Forum has decided to meet Secretary, DOT and find out the details and take a final decision about the programmes to be taken by the Forum.

In the same meeting with CMD,, it was informed that the refund of the Spectrum surrendered will be adjusted towards Licence fee to be paid by BSNL. This is not acceptable. What the government should do is to immediately pay the amount to BSNL to purchase equipment etc. and get the licence fee gradually, when the finance of the company improves. The best way is to waive the arrears of licence fee of BSNL, in the same way many dues and taxes of the private telecom companies were waived.

Through the formation of the Tower Company, the govt. wants to divert even the existing revenue of the BSNL and through the adjustment of refund of spectrum refund towards licence fee, it wants that BSNL to be deprived of any funds for its improvement.

Instead of weakening BSNL, its own company, the government should help it to spring back to its original glory.

One of the major decisions of the strike agreement between the BSNL Circle Management and BSNLCCWF, BSNLEU and SNEA that the wages of the contract workers will be increased by Rs. one hundred per day is yet to be implemented, resulting in the continuation of the struggle. The agreement has been reached after detailed discussion as a result of the sustained struggles of the workers. Even by increasing the wages by Rs. 100, the wages of the contract workers will be far below that of the ordinary daily workers in Kerala.

We demand the management to implement the agreement without any delay.

It has been reported in the press that a robot installed in the SKH Metals, Manesar, Gurgaon, has killed a worker, Ramji Lal(24) while the worker was doing some work near the robot. Now robots are being employed in many factories not only in foreign countries, but in India also.

Such an accident happened in the Volkswagen company in Germany, a few months back. The worker was killed when he was adjusting the machine.

Worker is always the casualty, whether industrialisation, robatisation  or  modernisation.

VRS for BSNL and MTNL Employees ?

Tags

,

It seems that certain manias of government never end. It is now about Voluntary Retirement Scheme in BSNL and MTNL. While VRS was implemented thrice in MTNL, the staff unions in BSNL strongly opposed it and never allowed VRS to take place in the company. Every time, the government had to go back on the scheme due to the mighty opposition and struggles of the unions under the leadership of the Forum, the umbrella organisation.

Once again, the central government, now NDA is taking the old proposal from its store. The proposal as per press reports  target  about 70,000 – 1,00,000 employees in BSNL. We have told and proved with examples in other PSUs, that VRS always have been bad for the service and the PSU itself. But a government, which is pro-private and is not interested in the growth of PSU,  may again try to implement VRS, making it a CRS (Compulsory Retirement Scheme).

The government is to be told emphatically, that the BSNL employees and their unions will never allow any  VRS in BSNL which is against the interest of the workers, the service and the country itself.
