Communist Party of Nepal.

In a very welcome move,  Nepal’s two major Communist  parties declared their unification and launched the new communist party on Thursday.

The ruling Communist Party of Nepal (United Marxist Leninist) (CPN-UML) and Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) announced their unification as Nepal Communist Party at a press conference at City Hall in Kathmandu Thursday evening.

CPN-UML Chairman K.P. Sharma Oli and Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal signed the agreement and declared the merger and formation of a single communist party in the Himalayan country.

The new party has been registered at the Election Commission after the CPN-UML and the CPN Maoist Centre dissolved their respective central committees.

The latest political development came after the seven-point party unification deal which was formally signed by the top leaders of both parties in Feb. 20. (based on press reports)

General Strike in Greece on Friday January 12, 2018

10 Wednesday Jan 2018

PAME, the central union of Greece has called upon the entire workers to organise a strike on 12th January 2018 against the anti-workers decisions of the government, cutting the wages etc. The Circular issued by PAME is given below: AIBDPA support and extend solidarity to the strike.

“PAME Calls the Unions, the National Federations, the Regional Trade Union Centers to join the Strike
action all over Greece against the new antiworkers’ bill forwarded by the Government on Friday January
12.
Against this new attack PAME has called for General Strike on Friday, January 12. Dozens of
National Workers’ Federations, Regional Trade Union Centers and Trade Unions have already
responded to the call.
The GSEE-ADEDY (members of ETUC in Greece) and their unions have refused to call for Strike, so
as to give time to the Government to abolish workers’ basic rights.
The new bill includes a series of antiworkers’ measures (abolition of any protection of
workers’ homes so as to be auctioned by the banks, new taxes, etc) as well as imposition of new
laws on trade union action and organization aiming to ban our right to go on strike.
The class trade unions are organizing a series of actions to strengthen workers’ response to the new
attack and prepare massive participation to the strike under the Slogan “Hands off! From our Right to Go
On Strike”
On Tuesday January 9 the class unions of Athens held a militant demonstration and protest to
the Ministry of Labour. When the Minister of Labor refused to meet with delegation of the class unions
the workers entered the Ministry with force, hanged banners to the building, naming it “Ministry of
Employers-European Union and IMF” and not of the labor. The protest forced the Minister to meet with
delegation of the Unions, who demanded the cancelation of the bill that bans workers’ right to go on
strike. The Minister refused to withdraw the bill and slandered the class unions.”

Cuba celebrates 60th Revolution Day on 1st January 2018

31 Sunday Dec 2017

Cuban Revolution under the leadership of Fidel Castro and his guerrilla comrades including Che Guivera and Raul Castro succeeded on 1st January 1959, liberating the country from the dictatorship of Batista, who ran away to Dominican Republic.

During the last 59 years, Communist Cuba had to face many challenges including the economic blockade imposed by US and certain other countries. US made several attempts to murder Fidel Castro, but failed. The then USSR defeated the  move of US to attack Cuba. After the collapse of USSR, Cuba had to face several crises, but came out successfully.

After Fidel Castro vacated the post of President, Raul Castro became the President. Che Guivera, the revolutionary, left the post of Minister and went to Bolivia to lead the revolutionary struggle but was caught and murdered in cold blood.   He lives as the eternal revolutionary in the  minds of crores and crore of young people as their  icon.

Cuba has lighted the torch of socialism and communism in Latin America, which is getting more and more support from nearby countries. Many left of the centre governments have come in to existence.

Communist Cuba had already achieved many laurels for its best health system, governance etc., despite continued blockade.

My Hearty Congratulations and Best Wishes to the Cuban people on this Revolution Day!

Jerusalem, US

US President Donald Trump is in the habit of threatening and bullying countries which do not toe its line or do not heed its advises. The latest is its threatening the countries with funding cuts, if they vote in the UN against the US decision declaring Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and shifting its embassy to the city from Tel Aviv. Despite its threatening only 9 countries supported its stand in the UN. The huge majority supported the UN resolution against the US declaration and its deplorable stand on Jerusalem. In the security Council with 14 members, US was isolated earlier.

US and Israel leave UNESCO.

13 Friday Oct 2017

In an unprecedented move, both US and Israel has left the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO)on the ground that the latter is taking an anti – Israel stand. The US has not been contributing to the UNESCO fund since  2011 since UNESCO has been recognizing Palestine.

Narrow nationalism and anti-Palestine phobia has blinded US against international commitments. World nations have criticized US for the unjustified withdrawal and also non payment of funds to UNESCO.

German people reject ‘Swastika’ and cover it with graffiti of humour and love

Swastika and German people

The last two years have seen an increase of the right wing in Germany, probably due to the migrant issue as well as economic slow down. That may be the reason for the appearance of ‘Swastika’ sign in many places, which sign has been banned in Germany as it was a reminder of the Nazi days. Swastika was the sign of the Nazi Party headed by Hitler.

The appearance of the hated Nazi sign in many places have put alarm among the German people. The reaction has come fast. All these newly posted Swatikas are being covered up by graffiti artists by painting flowers, trees, animals, cars etc.on the swastika. Rabbits, Bids, Rubik’s Cube etc. are also painted. Instead of the hated ‘Swastika’ sign, signs  of love and humour are  painted.

Congratulations to the German people and the graffiti artists who is spreading the message of hope and love instead of hate and fascist trends. (Based on a report in Hindu dated 20-08-2017)

Donald Trump, Protest, US President

Los Angeles, Jul 3 : Demonstrators hoisting signs and chanting anti-Donald Trump slogans marched through downtown Los Angeles to urge Congress to impeach the president.
The Los Angeles march was one of several similar gatherings yesterday across California and the nation.
Organisers say they believe the president has violated the US Constitution and obstructed justice.
One banner called the president an “Illegitimate Corrupt Puppet.”
Marcher John Meranda tells the Los Angeles Times he has attended five recent anti-Trump marches. The 56-year-old says he’s most recently frightened by the Republican proposal to cut billions of dollars from the Medicaid program.
A smaller group of pro-Trump protesters gathered nearby outside Los Angeles police headquarters. The Trump supporters say they’re unconcerned about allegations that Trump tried to thwart an FBI investigation of former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
