Comtrust Factory, Tribunal desision

The Regional Industrial Disputes Tribunal has asked the management to open the Comtrust Weaving Factory, Kozhikode declaring the closure of the factory in 2009 as illegal. It has also asked the management to give the 107 employees, who did not opt VRS, salary and all other benefits from 2009.

This is a good order which will benefit the workers, who were put in great difficulty and misery due to the closure of the factory.

  5. First state with least corruption as per studies conducted by Centre for Media Studies.
  6. First in Public Affairs Index, which is an indication of best governance, as per PCA Service 2017.
  7. First in providing labour benefits including Insurance to the migrant workers as per report of the Latin American Television Channel Telesur.
  8. First in least death at child birth as per National Family Health Survey.
  9. First fully electrified state in India.

These are in addition to the 100% Literacy, Higher Minimum Wages for the labourers, Pension of Rs. 1,1000 for all those who are above 60 and having no other pension etc. etc.  While almost all the state PSUs became loss making, during the last one year, the LDF government had made 10 of these PSUs in to profit making. Text Books and Uniforms are supplied free to school going children as also noon meals.

The Left and Left and Democratic Front Governments in Kerala since the first Left Government of Com. EMS Namboodiripad in 1957 have shown a clear path of best governance for the people. The present LDF government is moving fast in the same path.

Congratulations to the Pinarayi Government!

Today, World Environment Day.

5th June, World Environment Day

Today, 5th June, is the World Environment Day, which is observed through out the world by nature friendly actions. It is being celebrated by planting trees, cleaning lakes and tanks, initiating fresh projects for waste disposal, safeguarding the environment etc. etc. The Paris Agreement signed by 195 countries  for reduction of carbon emission in each country was a great step in this connection. Unfortunately the withdrawal from the agreement by US President Donad Trump is a step backward, which has been strongly criticised by one and all.

The LDF Government in  Kerala led by Comrade Pinarayi Vijayan has taken a series of well planned programmes in safeguarding the nature and environment. One crore saplings will be planted today in the state through  involvement of people, students, employees etc. Old lakes/tanks etc. are being renovated and new rain pits for conserving water will be constructed. School children are observing the day with various positive actions. These are being done under the ‘Haritha Keralam’ and such projects of the government. Saplings are being supplied.

Each and every citizen has a role in saving the environment and nature from destruction. Safe environment is a condition for the existence of life.

Disinvestment, SBI

Smt. Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairman of SBI has stated that shares of SBI will be sold this year and the process is being considered. It will be worth$ 2.3 billion, she said.

The merger of Associated Banks with SBI and other actions taken by the government is intended to weaken the SBI and then disinvest.

Will the next in line be Reserve Bank of India?

Finance Minister exposes himself on Air India Sale.

Air india, Arun Jaitely

According to press reports, Finance Minister Arun Jaitely has stated that he wanted to disinvest Air India while he was in charge of the the Disinvestment Ministry during the period 1999-2000.

This exposes the deep rooted conspiracy of the NDA government to sell the national carrier, even before it started posting serious loss. The debt situation was very less at that time.

As far as the NDA government is concerned, it is only the question whether it is to be sold to Foreign or Indian Companies? But it is not an easy matter, since the workers and their unions in Air India will fight this danger with all their might, with the support of the working class in India.

World Nations condemn US exit from Climate Change Agreement

Carbon emission, Donald Trump, US

Many countries have condemned the statement of US President Donald Trump for exiting from the Paris Agreement on Climate Change signed by 195 countries in 2015.

As one of the countries having maximum carbon dioxide emission, it is the duty of US to honour the commitment to reduce it. Criticising India or like countries with less emission is meaningless. The US withdrawal is strongly criticised by many important persons and organisations  in the US itself.

Is it that Donald Trump is a Messenger of Darkness, Despair and Destruction? Only time will tell.

Farmers' Strike, Maharashtra

MUMBAI, June 1 :   Farmers from Maharashtra started an indefinite strike on Thursday, curtailing the supply of vegetables, fruits and milk to cities such as Mumbai in a move that could push up food prices in the coming days.

Indebted farmers are demanding a waiver on loans from the government of the big farming state similar to the $5.6 billion in debt forgiveness announced by Uttar Pradesh in April. (News Report).

The photo above shows the roads blocked by onions which the farmers have put there in connection with the strike. In many places milks in large quantity were spilled on the road. The strike is continuing. Thousands of farmers have committed suicide unable to repay the loans. The government should act immediately and waive the loans to save the farmers.

The government which is subsiding the corporates and rich business people should consider the case of these poor farmers also.

Education, Kearla, LDF Government

The commitment to the cause of Public Education by the Kerala LDF Government was once again in view on the first day of the School opening on 1st June 2017. Through out the state, celebrations were organised in government schools for welcoming the new comers. It was big celebration of joy and welcome.

The text books were ready, uniforms were ready and also the noon meals for the children. Chief Minister and other ministers attended the functions in schools.

It is to be noted that two M.P.s and one MLA of the state, enrolled their children in the government schools instead of the private schools stating that the government schools are to be made at the level of international level, which the LDF government is committed.

The Pinarayi Vijayan Government is fully implementing its election promises.

Government of the Corporates

Govt. of the corporates

One more proof of the government’s love for the Corporates.

When BSNL, the fully government owned company, is in loss and financial difficulties, the government accuses it of not performing well. It does not want to help in any way, including financially.
But when the private companies are in a financial crisis the government immediately acts. It forms a committee to look in to the matter. It is certain that the committee will recommend some financial assistance and the government will immediately act.
This is one more proof that the government is not interested in the public sector and is completely in favour of private sector and prepared to go to any extend to help it.

Is the saying that ” Government of the corporates, by the corporates and for the corporates” is going to be true?

Demonetisation the main factor for GDP drop

Demonetisation

The statement of Finance Minister Arun Jaitely that demeonetisation is only one of the factors for the drop in GDP is nothing but a weak escape route. The fact is that the main reason for the GDP drop is demonetisation. crires of work hours have been lost by people standing in queue for hours together in front of ATM, Bank Counters etc. Business have been seriously affected due to shortage of money. Agricultural products were damaged and dumped due to lack of customers not having cash.

Not only it was demonetisation, it was de-humanisation. Crores and crores of people became victims of the cashless period. More than 20 people died standing in queues before ATMs and bank counters.

The six months or so after the existing Rs.1000 and Rs.500 notes were withdrawn was a period of pain for the country and the people. GDP also went down. If the Finance Minister was sincere, he should have admitted the mistake and apologized to the people for the hardship it caused.

But NO. Such apology will never come from this Modi Government. It will justify every one of its actions, whether good or bad.
