CPI(M) completes 50 years of its proud heritage in 2014. As interested comrades are fully aware, the CPI(M) was formed in the Party Congress held at Calcutta from 31st October to 7th November 1964.
The formation of the CPI(M) was the culmination of the internal struggle within the then CPI on various ideological issues as well as on the strategy to be pursued for the Indian revolution based on Marxism-Leninism.
The fifty years of its existence, struggle for the correct policies and the sacrifices it had to face has made it dear to the working class and the toiling masses. But there has been serious setback in the elections both in W.Bengal and Kerala, its strong holds. But it is temporary and has to be overcome.
The first nine PBMs were: Coms. P.Sundarayya, EMS Namboodiripad, BT Ranadive, Jyoti Basu, Harkishan Singh Surjeet, AK Gopalan, P.Ramamoorthy, Promod Das Gupta and Basava Punniah. None of them are alive now.
The struggle for a socialist society is not easy. Commitment, dedication and determination is a must for the forward March.

An RTI has revealed that the Congress has been granted Income Tax relief for Rs. 743.75 crore in 2012-14. For the same period BJP was granted Rs. 338.95 crore tax relief.
The ruling political parties in India are amassing wealth in a grand way. These are the accounted money. What about the unaccounted money being collected during elections and other times? What about the black money ?
The people have a right to know.

The First family has failed again. In Maharashtra and Haryana, where elections have been held, the Congress, which was the ruling party has been relegated to a poor third!
Years of anti-poor policies, favouring the corporates, Himalayan Corruptions, belief in the infallibility of first family, poor governance and what not ? The party which led the struggle for freedom and which ruled the country for about six decades has almost lost relevance in the larger politics of India. The First Family always considered the Family and its cahoots forst and not the country and its progress.
A deserving punishment indeed!

The Cabinet which met today has decided to deregularise the price of diesel. Now it will be linked to the market. This was a move started by the UPA government, but due to strong protest from political parties, the move was dropped. Now the NDA government has implemented the same.
And immediately the price of diesel in Delhi has been reduced by Rs.3.37 for a litre, to show that the present move will benefit the customers, the people. Now it is reduced, but the chances are that the price will increase by leaps and bounds as we have seen in the case of petrol prices when it was deregularised and linked with market.
There should be strong protest against this anti-people move of the NDA government. More burdens are put on the shoulders of the common man.

Press Release
CPI(M) General Secretary, Prakash Karat, has written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Shri Akhilesh Yadav, today, seeking the release of those arrested in Meerut on the false charges of rape. The full text of the letter is being released herewith.
Dear Akhileshji,
I write to draw your attention to the Meerut case in which a personal relationship between two consenting adults who happen to belong to different religious communities was converted into a criminal matter of rape and forcible conversion by Hindutva organisations. These organisations manipulated and used some members of the woman’s family for their nefarious game. It is shocking that along with these organisations the BJP was also involved in the crime of false and communal propaganda aimed at creating enmity between two communities.
The young woman has now given her statement before the magistrate in which she has clarified the facts of her consensual relationship and that she was pressurized by her family members who in turn were being used by the Hindutva forces even reportedly bribed by them, to make false charges of gang rape and forcible conversion against Kaleem the person she was involved with and others.
At present ten people are in jail. They are: Kaleem, Nawab (Pradhan of the village), Madarsa Hafiz Sanaullah and his wife Samarjahan, Nishat d/o Hashmat, Gul Munawwar, Habib Razi, Shanu and Naveen. They are innocent of the crimes they have been accused of. There was no victim except the Constitution of India.
In these circumstances it is essential to take immediate steps to release the innocent men and women from jail. It is also necessary to punish those who are responsible for the false propaganda and communal frenzy in the name of “love jihad.”
While the young woman has declared her intention to marry Kaleem, some of the Hindutva organisations have dared to threaten her and have declared they will not “allow” such a marriage. The father of the woman is also being threatened again. This is absolutely intolerable and a challenge to the law and to the Constitution. I urge you to act firmly and swiftly to punish these men who must be taught the secular laws of India.
I request you also to provide security to the woman and on their release to the others.
With warm regards
Yours sincerely

We suspected this.
BJP which declared earlier from the top of the world that they will take stringent action against the persons who have illegally put black money in the Swiss Banks etc. has now stated that they will not publish the names since that would violate existing tax treaties with other countries.
This is exactly what the UPA government also stated. It is now very clear that BJP and Congress are the two sides of the same coin. Both of them do not want the list to be published since it may contain names of corporates who have supported them and contributed to their election funds and of leaders of their party.
This hypocrisy and double talk of the ruling party should be exposed.

The report of the committee on Black Money in foreign countries have been submitted to the government. Names of many of the people who have deposited black money in Swiss banks are also with the government.
Is the NDA government dilly-dallying with the information of the black money just like the UPA government ? Or are they prepared to publish them and take drastic action. It is unlikely, since the BJP which came to power has been fully supported by the corporates and big business, who might have put black money in the Swiss banks.

It is a shame on Delhi, the capital of India. Almost every day reports are coming about brutal attacks, abuse and molestation of the North East people in this capital city, where Indians from all part of the country are coming, staying and settled.
The Government should act strongly against such attacks. All citizens of the country should be treated as equal and no discrimination in any part of the country should be allowed. Not only the government, but the people also should oppose such discrimination.

The Prime Minister has announced the introduction of Shrameva jayate Programme stating that it will benefit the workers. But on the contrary it is only going to benefit the capitalists to maximise their profits. The proposed amendments to the Labour Laws by the Central government, in fact, will result in large section of workers being kept out of the labour laws and social security benefits. In the words of Com. Sitaram Yechury PBM CPI(M):
” This newly launched Shrameya jayate programme is an attempt to expedite labour reforms to help foreign investors. This is for helping them to maximise their profits, not to protect the interest of the Indian workers.”
“Acchha Din” is only for the capitalists and corporates and not for the common man and the poor workers.
