The Modi Government has decided to privatise many government corporations and to sell up to 51% to private in some other corporations. It seems that as per this decision, the BJP government will dispose almost all the central PSUs to the private in the name of garnering funds for the government.
Thousands of acres of land in various metro cities owned by these corporations are going to be handed over to the private companies from meagre amounts. Existing employees of these PSUs will lose jobs, once these are transferred to private.
The Central trade unions and the public sector unions have to confront this all round attack and defeat the government conspiracy. Otherwise, there will be no central PSUs by about one decade.
Sir i think some psu’s like postel india, bsnl wil survive ….
They will survive only if the workers continue their struggle against disinvestment and privatisation.
sick psus are not paid salary in time. They have not got wage revision.why trade union is not protesting for those things.
Sick psus employees will be happy if govt decides to close the sick psus.At least employees will get good terminal benifits.
Let trade union not make any protest because closure will benefit employees.
As you think there will not be much terminal benefits. Please enquire with the HMT employees whose company has been closed recently. You will understand. The company should be made profitable and the government should assist for revival. Trade unions are protesting against all the anti-PSU decisions. You enquire to such PSUs where it is being closed.
