The Chief Labour Commissioner has issued orders revising the Variable Dearness Allowance for contract Labours w.e.f. 1 April 2016. Usually it is revised on 1st April and 1 October of every year. There is an increase of VDA for the increase in the Consumer Price Index of 10.83 points, which comes to an increase of daily wages of Rs.10/- for unskilled, Rs. 12 for semiskilled, Rs. 14 for skilled and Rs.17 for highly skilled workers.
