The Supreme Court in an important judgment has stated that the right of compassionate appointment cannot be denied on the plea that some years have passed. This judgment was given by Justices R.Banumathi and TS Thakur directing Canara Bank to consider the claim of the petitioner according to its scheme which existed in 1993, when the official expired.
