By this October 1st BSNL will be completing 14 years. After born on 1st October 2000, the baby was healthy and was growing fast for the first few years. She was getting healthy and hygienic food and she grew.
But her good growth was not appreciated by her parent, the government, who already had a second young wife, the private companies. The father was dancing to the tunes of the stepmother and started neglecting the daughter. The stepmother harassed and victimised her.
She is now 14. She wants to grow, but there are many obstacles. But she is determined to grow and there are thousands and thousands who wish for her good health.
Give all support and Solidarity to BSNL to grow and be leader of the telecom services in India.

How she can grow..There s no justification for senior citizen staff (>50). Every day technology is changing. But employees are static. Just staying to get lakhs of salaries.
Your assessment, unfortunately, is not correct. It is, in fact, a wrong conclusion. It is only the same workers who made BSNL to grow and get a profit of Rs.45,000 crores within the first 7-8 years. They are the same workers who gave good service for during the DOT period. It is the same workers who have created the great telecom infrastructure through out the country. The loss has come mainly because the government took away all the cash balance of BSNL coming to about Rs. 40,000 crores in one way or other and also stopped the BSNL from procuring the urgently required equipment like mobile lines, cables etc. BSNL can recover if the government changes its anti-PSU policy and stop its undue support and pampering of the private telcos. Even now the Government is not prepared to pay BSNL its dues including the refund of taxes, refund of amount paid for the spectrum which has been returned two years back, its dues from the USOF in lieu of ADC etc. which comes to more than Rs. 20,000 crores. It is just like sending the army to the forward posts without supplying weapons and criticising the soldiers for the defeat. It is also to be noted that the total salary bill of the BSNL staff are almost the same for the last four years. With regard to the non-executive staff, the total salary bill has been reducing almost every month.
The average of the workers is about 50, only due to the fact that very less recruitment has taken place though more than 1,35,000 has retired since formation of BSNL.
U r right sir..Soldiers can fight with weapons if they are strong enough and know how to use those advanced weapons. I too agree that due to these people only we got crores of profit. But now the situation is not the same. We cant use horses now as gratitude for transportation. We are in service sector that too not in monopoly.
Compared to the earlier period, there are about 30,000 young engineers appointed and I am sure that the service will not go down with this additional work force. In fact, it should improve much with this strength. However, more young recruits are required.
