The President, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has given assent today to the Lokpal Bill passed by both the houses of the Parliament, thus making the anti-Corruption bill in to law. Now the same will be published in the Gazette.
Thus after years and years of effort, the Lokpal Act has come into being. While it will be Lok Pal at the Centre, it will be Lokayuktas in the States.
Rs. 3,600 Crore deal for VVIP Choppers cancelled

At last, after lingering for years, the Government of India has cancelled VVIP Chopper deal with the Anglo-Italian company Augusta Westland for supply of 12 choppers at a cost of Rs. 3,600 crores.
There were complaints of kickback to the tune of Rs. 360 crores, which was investigated in to earlier.Three choppers have already been supplied.
There were many complaints earlier also about kick backs /corruption in defence deals, but many of them were kept under the carpet on the plea of security concerns. Now, the government is under compulsion due to the allegation of large scale corruption in the government and hence the cancellation.

AAP after forming the government in Delhi is moving fast. Within days it has issued orders of free supply of water, reduction of charges for electricity and paying Rs. one crore to a police constable died while discharging his duty. All these are part of implementation of the Election Manifesto. The Ministers have not occupied palacious govt. bunglows like Ministers of congress and BJP. They are available to the people to meet.
But whether the Congress and BJP allow such pro-people decisions to be taken uninterruptedly? The reason – it will show the previous governments in poor light. Whether Congress will allow CWG scam to be enquired, in which the earlier govt.is directly involved. At any stage, the Congress can withdraw support. The BJP will be continuously opposing the AAP government.
Hence the AAP’s moving fast on decisions is the best policy. There need not be any compromise for continuing in power. How much welfare measures the government implement, more people will be in support. Continue with your programmes which will benefit the common people.

You are well aware that the National Convention on Revival of BSNL held on 3rd August 2013 at New Delhi had adopted a Declaration on the Revival of BSNL spelling out the actions to be taken for strengthening BSNL and providing a better service to the people.The Declaration has been published in the union journals. It was also decided that wide publicity should be given to these points and that all the Members of Parliament should be approached at their constituency by the local comrades requesting them to take up the issues for settlement with the Prime Minister/ Finance Minister/ Communications Minister. At the all India level, the Forum leaders have met some of these MPs. But meeting at local level will be more fruitful, especially in this general election year.
Kindly meet the MP of your constituency and request him to take up the demands with the Central Government, with information to the General secretaries/Convener Forum.
