Here you will tread upon a spark, purpose there, and there, and behind you and in front of you, and everywhere, flames will blaze up. It is a subterranean fire. You can not put it out.”

This year is marked by the sharpening of the intra-imperialist Antagonisms because qui Even Greater intensification of the exploitation of the peoples, as well as the risk of a generalized war. The Developments in Africa, Middle East, Asia and Europe Prove the aggressiveness of the capital Against the workers’ movement, make Thousands of people turn to immigration to escape the war zone, while the US and the European governments pretend That They Want to help the Refugees to survive.

The workers all over the world are worried about the aggressiveness of the US government, of NATO and Their Allies Who in order to gain new markets and rob the natural resources of the countries, are Bombarding the peoples of Syria, are killing children in Palestine are pushing the Venezuelan people to civil conflict, are Threatening with the use of nuclear weapons in the Korean peninsula area. They are Those Who dropped the Largest conventional bomb in Afghanistan, They Are la même Imperialists Who Support and Collaborate with gouvernement du Ukraine qui est supported by fascists, They Are la même Who Tolerate media and the Israeli policies in the Middle East.

These intra-imperialist Antagonisms are Deteriorating Even More the financial position of the workers and the pensioners. There is a generalized cut in salaries and pensions, privatizations in social security, public health and education, Increase of unemployment, “black” work and restrictions of trade union Freedoms. US Bombing. Syria, WFTU

The Statement issued by the Secretariat of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) is given below:

WORLD FEDERATION OF TRADE UNIONS
HM 07.04.2017 Athens, Greece – 7 April 2017

“The USA role and the bombings in Syria

“It is known all over the world that the USA, the European Union, Turkey and
the Gulf monarchies have founded, financed and armed the ISIS. Their goal
was dismembering Syria and founding new puppet states in order to steal the
region’s wealth. Today, with the USA bombings against Syria, the government of Trump
continues the policy of the previous Presidents. Through these bombings, it
supports the ISIS. It makes the situation even more dangerous for a
generalized war. The class-oriented trade union movement demands: – The foreign troops to leave the Region
– To stop the imperialist intervention against Syria and the whole Middle East – The wealth-producing resources of Syria belong to its people. – The peoples of the Region are the only ones who have the right to decide freely and democratically on their present and future. – to stop chemical weapons use by everybody”

WFTU statement on the World Water Day

22 Mar 2017
WORLD WATER DAY
In our days, hundreds of millions of people living without access to clean water, almost half of the world population has no access to sanitation facilities, 600 million children do not have adequate access to water, and millions of people die every year due to lack of water. The present situation is the result of capitalist mode of production, the uncontrollable industrial production and imperialist wars provoke serious problems for the environment and water deposits.

For the WFTU the water is a public good, a valuable natural resource subject to absolute protection of its quantity and quality, which has to be provided with special care for the balanced satisfaction of the modern popular needs and for the maintenance of nature.

The WFTU and the class oriented trade union movement struggle and demand to put into practice, that “water for human use” is not a merchantable product, it must not fall within the meaning of food and should be provided adequately, under the direct responsibility of each government, equally to all citizens of the dominion, as a public good, not being amenable to the “laws of market” and ruled by the rules of health engineering.

BREXIT, WFTU

Commenting on the British referendum on EU members, Luca Visentini, secretary general of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), said:

“This is a black day for Europe and the UK. It should sound the alarm to the EU so that it offers better prospects for workers.”

“There is great disappointment in Europe, not only in the UK. The austerity, reducing government spending, unemployment, the government ‘s failure to address the needs of people, the fact that the EU acts commonly makes people hostile to the EU. the workers want an EU that strongly improves their living conditions. ”

“The EU must ensure that this day does not mark the beginning of Europe burst, and not harm the jobs and rights of workers.”

“The European Union must ensure to enjoy new workers, to create a more just and equitable society and to invest in quality jobs, effective public services and real opportunities for young people.”

“The CES is combined with the TUC say that British workers should not pay the price of Brexit.”

“The ETUC will continue, and more, to fight for more social and fairer. ” (Courtesy: WFTU)

Women and men, young and old, employed or unemployed, immigrants and refugees: the WFTU wish them the strength, determination and courage in their small and large struggles.
Transnational corporations, governments reactionary forces, neo-fascist and racist, imperialist structures dread this day. Because it is a symbol of internationalism, symbol of the struggle, a symbol of class unity. They are our indispensable in our struggles for a better life, stronger tools against poverty and wars generated by capitalist barbarity.
Building on the strong, classist, mass, democratic, militant grassroots unions, we give strength to the WFTU.
And strengthening of the WFTU as class organization with roots at the base, internationalist and solidarity, we are strengthening our unions.
In all countries of the world with all kinds of actions, we demand the satisfaction of current needs, our employment, labor and social rights.
Our reality of poverty, unemployment, poverty and war, in contrast to the technological and scientific progress and wealth we produce, show how unrealistic rotten is the model of capitalist production.
We join forces and build our social alliance with the popular sectors against exploitation and capitalist barbarism.
On the occasion of the first of May 2016, we reiterate our internationalist solidarity with the people of Palestine, Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen and all peoples who suffer imperialist attacks and fighting for their right to decide for themselves on their present and future.
This year, 2016, the representatives XVII World Congress of Trade Unions will add class trade union movement, in the heroic land of South Africa. SOLIDARITY WITH THE PEOPLE OF FRANCE

The World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) denounces the terrorist attacks in Paris that resulted in many innocent people, many ordinary people losing their lives. To the working class and the people of France, we express our condolences. From history, we know that terrorist attacks like last night’s in Paris are utilized by the imperialist mechanism, so they can take new antidemocratic measures against the people. To all the workers of France, to all the affiliates and friends of the WFTU, we assure them that we are standing by them during these difficult and dramatic moments. They should know that they are not alone. Our thoughts and our internationalist solidarity are with them.
