The labor movement class of Greece expresses its solidarity with the people of Palestine.
We denounce the political, financial and military government with SYRIZA
the murderous state of Israel and its support for imperialist plans of NATO-USA.
We demand:
· The release of all political prisoners from Israeli prisons
· Demolition of the unacceptable separation wall, and the elimination of all forms of
exclusion and / or segregation of the Palestinian people in West Bank and Gaza
Strip
· The withdrawal of the settlers, who live in places not in accordance with borders
1967
· To ensure that all Palestinian refugees on the basis of the relevant United Nations resolutions
return to Palestine
· Cancellation of all military games and all military cooperation agreements with Israel
· An independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital

CITU Supports BSNL Strike

BSNL strike, CITU, support

Com.A.K.Padmanabhan, President, CITU, has issued the following statement:

CITUSupports the Strike in BSNL

CITUcongratulates the 2.25 lakhs of employees of BSNL, including 40,000 executives
for their successful countrywide united strike for 48 hours on 21st and 22nd April
2015.
The strike call given by the Forum of BSNL Unions/Associations, an umbrella
organization of all the unions and association of employees and executives. It was after
4 months of their strike notice, they have gone on strike.
The issues raised by the Forum are the issues of saving the public sector telecom
enterprise which is being derided of all support from the Government and at the same
time the private players in the sector are favoured and supported.
It is unfortunate that the employees of a telecom PSU are forced to go on a 48 hour
strike for procurement of equipments like mobile lines, broadband modem etc. All the
demands including filling up of vacancies are aimed at strengthening the enterprise.
It is condemnable that the concerned Minister or the Department Secretary did not
even call the unions for a discussion on their demands.
CITU urges the Government to take necessary steps to save this crucial PSU. CITU
assures all support to the employees and executives in their struggle in defence of the
PSU and calls upon them to be prepared for united actions of all public sector
employees in defence of public sector undertakings in the country.
(A.K.PADMANABHAN)
President CITU

An Appeal to the General/Circle/Branch Secretaries of BSNL Unions/Associations

Agitatioin, BSNLCCWF, support

Dear Comrades,
As you are well aware there are about one lakh casual and contract workers engaged in BSNL who are working in various capacities for the last 30 to 15 years in DOT/BSNL. Out of them about 3350 are casual workers who were eligible to be regularised as per the agreement at the time of formation of BSNL, but were not regularised due to administrative delay by the Circle/SSA heads. Minimum Wage as per Government/BSNL C.O. orders are denied to them at the field level. Social Security measures like EPF and ESI are not implemented though they are to be provided as per the laws of the country. The casual contract workers in BSNL are brutally and inhumanly exploited.
BSNL Casual and Contract Workers Federation has been continuously taking up the issues with the BSNL Management, Contractors, Parliamentary Standing Committee of labour, Communications minister, Labour Minister and even Prime Minister. While there has been some improvement, the situation continues more or less the same. In addition, the leaders and workers of the union are being retrenched and victimised.
It is in this context that the Central Executive Committee of the BSNLCCWF has taken a decision to resort to agitational programmes to achieve the long pending demands and put an end to the continuing exploitation and against retrenchment and victimisation.
We seek support of all of you in our struggles and agitations so that our justified demands are conceded by the authorities.
The immediate programmes being organised are 1) Demonstration at SSA level on 26th February 2014 and 2) Dharna at SSA level on 26 th March 2014.
Thanking you,
Yours Comradely,
V.A.N.Namboodiri Tapas Ghosh
President Secretary General

AAI Strike against privatisation, support

Airport Authority of India employees have started a three days strike protesting against the government move to privatize 6 air-ports in the country. The call was given by the Joint Forum of AAI Employees which is forum of the unions of AAI.

The government move to privatize the airports at Chennai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Lucknow will mean that most of the profit making airports will be with the private companies. The Airport authority has modernised all these airports recently with much expenditure. The modernisation of Chennai and Kolkata alone had cost the AAI Rs. 2015 crore and Rs. 2325 crore respectively.

It is to be noted in this connection that the AAI staff in the airports at New Delhi and Mumbai are yet to be re-deployed after the privatisation of these two airports years back.

Our complete support and solidarity to the AAI employees on their fully justified strike. We demand the government to drop the unjustified privatisation of the airports.

NLC, strike, support

Our Red Salute to the  comrades of Neyveli Lignite Corporation, who are on strike since 3rd October against the decision of government to disinvest shares in the company. All the unions in the NLC are involved in the strike, but the government is still adamant.

The Central trade Unions have called for support and solidarity of all the unions to this justified strike of NLC employees. BSNL Employees Union along with other unions in BSNL, as per the call of the Forum of BSNL Unions/Associations had organised massive demonstrations on 9th July all over India in support of the NLC strike.

The government should come down from the present adamant stand and discuss with the Unions in NLC and  drop the proposals for disinvestment. That will be a wise decision.
