Relief for Nepal people

Nepal is bleeding. More than 6,000 people have died and the death numbers may increase. Tens of thousands are on the roads with nowhere to go with their houses collapsed. Thousands are in hospital, seriously injured. Relief Materials, medicines, clothes all are required, for which money is required.

The CEC Meeting of All India BSNL DOT Pensioners Association(AIBDPA) held at Jamnagar has called upon the Pensioners to donate liberally to the Nepal Relief Fund.

AIBDPA has always been in the forefront of giving a helping hand. AIBDPA collected Rs. 3.64,540 last time for Uttarakhand landslide/flood relief and handed over to the Prime Minister. This time also AIBDPA expects that good number of comrades will donate to this noble cause.

Is there discrimination in publishing news?

As per direction of TRAI, most of the telecom companies, both PSUs and private, have reduced the roaming and SMS charges. While the corporate headed newspapers  have given wide publicity to the reduction by Airtel, Vodafone etc. many are silent about the reduction by BSNL. Is it intentional or accidental? You can think over it.

Comrade Ananta Bhattacharjee, President AIBDPA

Comrade Ananta Bhattacharjee is the All India President of All India BSNL DOT Pensioners Association since its inception. He retired during the DOT period. He was the Circle Secretary of the AITEU Class III Calcutta Telephones for a long period.
Though above 80 years, he is still very active and carries over his responsibilities very effectively and efficiently.
In the just concluded CEC Meeting of AIBDPA also, as usual, he guided it to take correct concrete decisions.
Very simple living and high thinking are his habits. I have a very long association with him. I got the opportunity to renew it at Jamnagar. We parted with a cup of tea when he started for the Railway Station to return to Kolkata.

Meeting an old comrade

28 Tuesday Apr 2015

It was an emotional meeting and unexpected. When I reached the AIBDPA CEC Meeting Hall at Jamnagar, many comrades came out to receive me. They were all senior comrades of the union and now the leaders of AIBDPA. But one comrade who came and shook my hands was none other than Com.A.C.Shah, the first Circle Secretary of BSNLEU who built the BSNL TU movement in Gujarat. He sacrificed his entire time and money touring all the places and organising which resulted BSNLEU becoming the first and mighty union. I had the opportunity to tour with him to many places. I could see with how much respect he is loved. His health is deteriorated, but the spirit is still high.
Com.A.C.Shah, thank you for giving a chance to meet you after many years.

Excellent Service by Air India staff

28 Tuesday Apr 2015

Today, 28 April, I had to reach Jamnagar to attend the CEC of AIBDPA. Yesterday was the CEC of NCCPA at Delhi and hence could not start earlier.

My flight was Air India Delhi to Mumbai and connecting flight from Mumbai to Jamnagar. From Delhi the flight was to start at 09.00 AM and reach Mumbai at 10.45 and Jamnagar flight to start at 13.00 hours. But Delhi flight was delayed for more than 1.30 hours and reached Mumbai at about 12.40 only. It was almost impossible to get the JMN flight.I thought I missed the flight.
But the moment I got out from the flight, an AI employee who was waiting for me
asked me whether I have to board the JMN flight and when I told yes, he immediately took my bag and started rushing. He went to the boarding counter and recorded my boarding and again rushed me to the JMN flight to the point of actual boarding. In short, I could board the flight and reach JMN in time.
My heartfelt thanks to the AIR staff for the best service. Some propagate that AI service is not up to the mark. Buy my experience is entirely different. I always got very good service.

Now private airports are going to start in India. Civil Aviation Ministry has allowed Bengal Aerotropolis Projects Limited (BAPL) to open a private airport at Andal near Durgapur about 180 km from Kolkata.
So, the NDA government will not leave any sector with Government. One after another private sector will capture even the remaining sectors.
