The Finance Minister, Arun Jaiely, has stated that the Minimum Alternate Tax will not be imposed upon the foreign institutional investors(FII) and foreign portfolio investors(FPI) prior to April 2015. The Income Tax rules will be changed accordingly as per the Minister.
This is a great bonus for these investors. The government will be losing lakhs of crores of rupees due to this concession, though the FM says that there will be no loss.
The government which denies to the toiling workers a minimum of Rs.15,000 which they have been demanding for a long time, has no difficulty in waiving lakhs of crores of rupees for the corporates and the big business. This indeed is a government of the corporates, for the corporates and by the corporates.

New Delhi, September 1: The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:
Don’t Create Communal Controversies in Late President Kalam’s Name
The recent renaming of Aurangazeb Road in New Delhi is a very unfortunate measure since it is widely regarded as the first step in a campaign to rename historical places and roads on communal grounds. It is regrettable that the Delhi state government under AAP leadership also became a party to this decision. The Polit Bureau demands that the decision be reversed. There are many other ways to perpetuate the memory of the late President Abdul Kalam. Creating such controversies is, in fact, an undignified manner of paying tribute.

On this 59th anniversary of the Life Insurance Corporation of India, we extend hearty Congratulations and Greetings to LIC and the workers, who have magnificently charted its course for better service and strong financial viability. It is only with the committed and dedicated service of the LIC employees, Agents, Management and all concerned that the company has grown and became the one of the best PSU in the country.
1st September 1956 is a red letter day for the nation. It was on this day that the private Insurance companies were taken over by the government and LIC was formed. Now, looking back we can realise that it was a wise decision. There is no Life Insurance Company in the world with a better serve record.
Keep up LIC! The nation is with you!

Bengaluru/Dharwad, Aug 31 : The Karnataka government today decided to hand over to CBI the probe into the murder of noted Kannada progressive thinker and scholar M M Kalburgi even as his body was laid to rest with full state honours.
The state Cabinet took the decision to refer the case to the central agency, a day after the 77-year-old vocal and outspoken rationalist fell to the bullets of two unidentified men at his residence at Dharwad in north Karnataka, considered the state’s cultural capital.
“We have decided along with handing over the case to CID, also to refer it to CBI,” Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T B Jayachandra told reporters in Bengaluru after a Cabinet meeting. (PTI)

New Delhi, August 31: The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:
The Polit Bureau expresses its deep shock and condemnation of the dastardly killing of Prof M M Kalburgi, renowned Kannada scholar, writer and former Vice Chancellor of Kannada University, Hampi. Prof. M. M. Kalburgi was known for his strong views against superstition, obscurantism and for scientific temper.
Two unidentified assailants fired at him at his home at Kalyan Nagar, Dharwad, Karnataka from Point-Blank range, a similar pattern adopted by the killers of rationalist leader Govind Pansare in Kolhapur in February 2015 and another rationalist leader Narendra Dabholkar in Pune in August 2013. It is shocking that both the cases remain unsolved. Extremist communal elements are suspected to be behind these murders. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) demands that the Karnataka government and police take speedy and effective action to apprehend the culprits and those behind this heinous crime.
The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) conveys its heartfelt condolences to all his family members.

Shri M.M.Kulbargi, eminent scholar, author and rationalist and former Vice-Chancellor of the Kannada University at Hampi has been brutally murdered in his house at Dharwad yesterday. It is assumed that the right wing Hindu extremists are behind the crime.
This is taking a pattern. Whoever criticise and expose the Hindu extremism are being annihilated. S/Shri Narendra Daholkar and Govind Palsare who opposed obscurantist beliefs and fought against them have been murdered earlier.
The entire country should stand up and expose and defeat these anti-people elements. Severe punishments should be given to he culprits.

The Modi government was compelled to back track from its anti-farmer land acquisition ordinance. Ordinance was issued thrice one after another hoping that it would be able to pass the controversial land bill in the Parliament. Utterly defeated by the strong opposition in Rajya Sabha as well as Lok Sabha, the government has decided not to issue another ordinance after the period of the last ordinance will be over today. As such the ordinance has lapsed.

Family values, ethics, relations are all changing in the world of corporates and high society. Everything is fine in the war for wealth and fame. This is one of the lessons that Sheena Bora murder teaches.
Marriages one after another, lies, murders, conspiracies, high level tours world over, purchasing the police and authorities, the latter succumbing to money and pressure – all are there; the rotten side of the society, but well covered until accidentally exposed due to some unexpected incident.
Remember the case of murder of Sunanda Pushkar, wife of former Minister and sitting M.P., Shashi Tharoor as also the murder of Jessica Lal in a Delhi Bar. Cases were closed for lack of evidence or leniently dealt with until something happened to reopen it.
Muscle Power, Money Power and State Authority combined together sometimes make justice a mockery. It is a ray of hope that at least one in a thousand such cases are exposed despite all the above obstacles.
