Stop Moral Policing – CPI(M)

CPI(M), No moral policing

New Delhi Octber 28 :The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), now in session at Delhi, has  issued the following statement:

The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the Hindutva elements who sought to stir up trouble with the allegation of “beef” being served in the canteen at Kerala House in New Delhi.  Firm action should be taken against them.

The CPI(M) condemns the raid conducted by Delhi Police at the Kerala House on the pretext of investigating whether beef was being served in the canteen.  Everybody is aware that buffalo meat is allowed legally to be sold in Delhi and any preparation of such meat is not an illegality.

This raid conducted by the Delhi Police is, therefore, illegal.  The Delhi Police is directly administered by the Union Home Minister. This comes in the background of a nationwide campaign unleashed by the RSS patronized by the Central Government led by Prime Minister Modi against alleged consumption of beef in various parts of the country.  This is only a pretext to sharpen communal polarization across the country through which the BJP seeks to  gain politically and electorally.

Initially the Kerala state government authorities appeared to have succumbed to this illegal pressure by the Delhi Police and removed beef preparations from the menu of the Kerala House canteen.  This is highly deplorable.

This act by the Delhi Police is also a clear violation of the federal structure of the Indian Constitution and infringes upon the rights of the state governments on their property in the national capital.

This action by the Delhi Police is unacceptable.  Government of Delhi must institute a proper probe into this incident  and strict  action must follow against those responsible

BSNLEU-SNEA-BSNLCCWF

Kerala Circle unions of BSNLEU-SNEA-BSNLCCWF have called upon the BSNL employees to observe Black Day on 29th October 2015 against the victimisation of union workers and leaders by issuing charge sheets, filing FIRs and transfer to distant  places. Workers will attend duties wearing Black Badges and will hold protest demonstrations in all the SSAs.

We fully support the programme. We demand the CMD BSNL to immediately issue necessary instructions for withdrawal of the charge sheets, transfer etc. and restore original position so that normalcy will also be restored.

We can not allow one former CGM to destroy the entire Kerala Circle and its services.

Train Journey – time to read

27 Tuesday Oct 2015

I like train journeys. It is always a time to read. Today I am in train going to Raipur from Delhi along with Com. KG Jayaraj to attend the Circle Conference of AIBDPA tomorrow. I could go through some books I wanted to read. While in AC compartment, one gets sleepy, but somehow I managed to be awake to read.
The government move to privatise this biggest service and Department is anti-people, anti-nation. It is a sell out of the nation’s wealth to the MNCs and Indian Corporates. Massive protest of the people is required to save Railways, the transport of the poor and rich alike.

24 years are over after Bhopal AIC of E.III Union

Time flies fast. It is 24 years after the histiric All India Conference of All India Telecom Employees Union Class III at Bhopal in October 1991, which heralded a new, militant and dedicated leadership in the organisation led by Coms. Moni Bose and VAN Namboodiri. A whole new generation of leadership came to the fore.
The last 24 years since have seen vast changes in the telecom sector including entry of private companies and capturing market. Workers are reduced from more than 5 lakh to 2.20 lakh. BSNL, the  telecom PSU, is fighting for survival and for providing better service. The employees are united to save telecom.Continued struggles take place on the justified demands of workers.
The workers are determined to save BSNL and provide a better service.
The workers have learnt from ecperiences that both the NDA and UPA governments are the governments of the corporates, for the corporates and by the corporates. The present NDA goverrnment is further soft on communalism and intolerance, which is a grave danger.
A change is necessary which the mighty united force of the common people and the toiling masses alone can bring.

Attack on Iraq was a mistake – former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair

Iraq attack mistake, Tony Blair

At last, after many years, the confession has come out from Tony Blair, former UK Prime Minister who ordered  attack on Iraq to oust Saddam Hussain.

Tony Blair told yesterday that the attack on Iraq was a mistake. It has resulted in ISIS growth and terrorism. Saddam Hussain was less bad than ISIS, he said.

Some people realise their mistakes very late after all the damages have been done. Wisdom come late is not wisdom at all.
