The Parliamentary Committee on Petitions headed by BJP MP Bhagat Singh Koshiani has recommended for Merger of BSNL and MTNL. It has also recommended for appointment of an Expert Committee to examine the matter.
Again and again the issue of merger of BSNL and MTNL is being raised. The Forum of BSNL Unions and Associations of Non-Executives and Executives had made its stand clear. The merger can be effected, provided that the huge liabilities of MTNL is made good by the government, the disinvested shares of MTNL are bought back and the pay scales of both BSNL and MTNL are made equal.
The Petitions Committee and the Expert Committee, when appointed should consider merger on this basis. The merger should be for the benefit of both and not for disaster.
Dear Sir,
It is Government’s company. Who are you people to set terms and conditions for merger ? You can raise the issues of safeguards of employees, but it is none of your business to intervene in government decisions.
With regards,
You are completely mistaken. Any citizen can express their opinion or criticise on the decisions of the government. It is the democratic right of any citizen. As far as the workers are concerned, they have the right to express their view points and if it is not beneficial to the company and the workers, they can oppose. India is a democratic country and not an autocratic state. Kindly give your full nae and address when making comments. This has been pointed out several times in this blog so that the identity is known.
Now why BSNL has to take burden of MTNL. Only we get 3000 cr extra annual loss plus 40000 staff. It’s a big conspiracy by DOT to finish BSNL. It is the govt. responsibility to revive MTNL. How merger ll help BSNL. Already Mumbai n Delhi are crowded circles
