The Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) had notified the proposal for the Minimum Wage of Rs. 350 per day on 1st September 2016 seeking the view of both employers and workers for finalising the same, with 2 months time given. This was based on the declaration of the government that the minimum wage will be raised to Rs.10,000 per month.
Though two months are over by 1st November 2016, the Gazette Notification is yet to be issued. We expect the CLC(C) to issue the same at the earliest accepting Rs.18,000 per month as demanded by the central trade unions. BSNLCCWF had also submitted a Memorandum to the CLC(C) demanding Rs. 18,000.
