Central Govt. against ban on SUVs and big diesel vehicles

The central government has told the Supreme Court that the ban on SUVs and big/ luxury cars of more than 2000 CC diesel should be lifted since they are better equipped against pollution and the ban will compel the foerign companies  to go away which are investing huge funds in India. The  Attorney General for the government also asked the SC what authority it has
to impose tax on these vehicles which is in the domain of the government.

The central govt.is too sensitive when big business and foerign investers are involved.  Pollution and health of the people are of no interest to it.

Whenever the workers go on agitation, struggle, the management or the government try to divide the workers. Their method is to ‘Divide and Rule’.

What should be the answer and how to confront the management/government?

The answer is ‘Unite and Fight’. It is the ‘unity for struggle’. Unity is not for inaction, but for action and more action!

NFTE and FNTO should come back to Forum

NFTE and FNTO have not been attending the meetings of the  Forum for some time. The reason is not known. The Forum is the joint platform of BSNL Unions / Associations for fighting against the  anti worker policies of the government and for strengthening BSNL and its services. It is the joint struggles and  agitation by  Forum which sustained BSNL all  these years.
Taking all these in to consideration, NFTE and FNTO  should reconsider and  come  back to Forum. Forum has also  requested these unions for coming back.

240 years of United States

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” (Declaration of Independence 1776)

240 years have passed after the people of United States of America (USA) declared independence from the British rulers on 4th July 1776. The ‘Declaration of Independence’ is a well appreciated document.

During these two and half centuries, US has become the most powerful nation in the world. The collapse of the European powers like Britain, France, Germany etc. in the II world war saw the unprecedented rise of US, which was comparatively safe from the scourge of war. The collapse of USSR in the 1980s resulted in the unipolar power of capitalists headed by US.
US has travelled much back from its Declaration of Independence. It became a threat to many independent countries. Its quest for world domination has created conflicts in many countries. Its military attacks and intervention in Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq and oher middle east countries have given rise to terrorist forces, which has become a threat to the people all over the world.

If world peace is to be achieved, US has to change its policy of world domination and function with the Declaration of Independence and democratic principles, which of course, the common people of US also want.

Greetings to the people of US on 240th anniversary of freedom of their country from British colonialists!

NATIONAL CONVENTION OF CPSTUs

National Convention of Central Public Sector trade unions held at Hydrabad resolves to make the 2nd September General Strike a historic success.
A national convention of the Central Public Sector trade unions was held at Gandhi Bhavan, Hydrabad today. The main agenda before the convention was to make the 2nd September General Strike a success. 450 delegates, representing various public sector undertakings, participated in the convention. Veteran trade union leader and the President of the INTUC, com. Sanjeeva Reddy inaugurated the convention. Senior leaders like com. Tapan Sen, MP, GS, CITU, com. H.Mahadevan, Working President, AITUC, com. Swadesh Dev Roye, Secretary, CITU and com.Shanmugam, GS, LPF addressed the Convention. The draft declaration introduced by com. Tapan Sen, was unanimously adopted by the convention. Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, Com.J.Sampathrao, CS, Andhra Pradesh circle & AGS and com. P. Asokababu, Vice-president(CHQ) represented BSNLEU in the Convention. Totally 27 delegates participated in the deliberations. On behalf of BSNLEU, com. P. Abhimanyu, GS, addressed the convention. He exposed the pro-corporate and anti-worker Neo Liberal policy being implemented by the BJP government and assured to make the 2nd September General Strike successful in BSNL. The Convention unanimously resolved that, the widest possible campaign should be conducted to make the General Strike a historic success. (Courtesy: BSNLEU Website)

7% DA increase eligible for CG Employees

AS PER CONSUMER PRICE INDEX RELEASED BY LABOUR BUREAU THE DA/DR FOR CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES AND PENSIONERS IS TO BE INCREASED BY 7% FROM 1ST JULY, 2016.

Cloudbursts, floods and landslides in Uttarakhand take many lives

Cloudbursts, landfalls and floods in Utterakhand have been severe and many people have died.  Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and friends!

This is not the first time that such a tragedy has happened. Two years back hundreds of people lost their lives in a similar natural disaster. Now it is repeated.

The Government should immediately arrange rescue operations and  render all help to the suffering people of Utterakhand. It has also to be looked in to whether such disasters can be stopped. BSNL has to ensure that communication services are restored at the earliest, as done earlier.

Government should publish Recommendations of NITI Ayog on PSUs

The central government has received the report of the NITI Ayog days back, which recommended closure/privatisation of many central PSUs. It can not be treated as a confidential document and needs to be made open to the public.

Public Sector Units in the country have been formed for the improvement of insfrastructure, manufacturing etc. Any change or important modification on these PSUs should be known to the public and the stakeholders including the workers of these PSUs. It should be discussed with the unions/associations before any decision is taken by the government.

Prepare for serious struggle against closure / strategic sale of BSNL

It is reported in Hindu that BSNL, Air India etc. are recommended to be closed / strategically sold by NITI Ayog (former Planning Commission) along with many other loss making PSUs. It is also reported that the government may not accept the recommendation in the case of BSNL immediately, since the government fear stiff opposition from its 2.5 lakh employees. ITI is already in the list. It is also reported that the government will start with ‘low hanging fruit’ and later proceed with the big catch.

The intention of the government is very clear. It wants to handover the most profitable telecom sector completely to the private, including BSNL. VSNL is already sold. BSNL seems to be the next target, since Delhi based MTNL, may be the last target because of its being in the capital of the country with all government offices, including that of President, Prime Minister, Defence establishments etc.

Its inability to impose VRS and disinvesment in BSNL earlier, due to strong protest and agitation from the workforce, only is keeping the government from privatising/closing BSNL. Any weakening of the Forum / united movement of the workers will be utilised by the government to implement its dark agenda. The workers can not be caught unawares.

Strengthen Forum of BSNL Unions/Associations to fight against privatisation/closure of BSNL!

Unnecessary stapling of envelopes

Some of the postal articles like journals, postal envelops etc. I receive are stapled several times. It is very difficult to unstapple the pins without causing damage to the contents. I do not understand why these articles are unnecessarily stappled creating harassment for the receiver and some times pain also.

My suggestion is that this pinning and stappling be avoided. The strappling does not make any article more safe, except damaging the contents.
