National Convention of Central Public Sector trade unions held at Hydrabad resolves to make the 2nd September General Strike a historic success.
A national convention of the Central Public Sector trade unions was held at Gandhi Bhavan, Hydrabad today. The main agenda before the convention was to make the 2nd September General Strike a success. 450 delegates, representing various public sector undertakings, participated in the convention. Veteran trade union leader and the President of the INTUC, com. Sanjeeva Reddy inaugurated the convention. Senior leaders like com. Tapan Sen, MP, GS, CITU, com. H.Mahadevan, Working President, AITUC, com. Swadesh Dev Roye, Secretary, CITU and com.Shanmugam, GS, LPF addressed the Convention. The draft declaration introduced by com. Tapan Sen, was unanimously adopted by the convention. Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, Com.J.Sampathrao, CS, Andhra Pradesh circle & AGS and com. P. Asokababu, Vice-president(CHQ) represented BSNLEU in the Convention. Totally 27 delegates participated in the deliberations. On behalf of BSNLEU, com. P. Abhimanyu, GS, addressed the convention. He exposed the pro-corporate and anti-worker Neo Liberal policy being implemented by the BJP government and assured to make the 2nd September General Strike successful in BSNL.
