now in this sort of situation where landline connection base is declining, BSNL losing its valuable customers, what should we suppose to do to stop this negative growth, except finding the reason behind why they aren’t interested to use wired lines?? is it any lack of service/scheme related issues/billing problems/frequent cable cuts and service interruption/or most importantly while other service providers are offering lucrative packages and schemes on land service why we aren’t doing so? initiatives like SWAS, SAVE BSNL are all going in vain? #voice_against_management and their flattering to govt attitude
Mobiles are preferred by people mainly because it is portable and you can take it with you wherever you go. This is a universal rend. From reports every where, despite no support from the government, SWAS, SAVE BSNL etc. improved both the services and revenues of BSNL. The last few months are examples for the same.
BSNL still behind…
BSNL was far behind when the mobile licence was granted to it after 5-6 years granted to private companies. But within 3-4 years, it reached to second position in mobiles. It was only after the procurement process was cancelled at the directive of the then Minister Communications that BSNL started coming down. Now BSNL is again trying improve its position at the initiative of the employees and unions. Even a small improvement is to be appreciated.
do appreciate that but small town landline subscriber count is declining fast and now workers working at these telephone exchanges fearing to shut down and lose their mild waged work. thanks for replying by the way sir
Changes are inevitable. Telecom services have changed many times. One has to change and adjust with these changes to suit their future.
yes agree with your view that changes are inevitable but should not be unexpected which is very harmful in nature and kind of threat to bsnl and its grass root wired line business! 🙂 have a good day
Wired lines will continue, but at lower numbers. There are still many who prefer land lines to mobile or want both services. But increasing landlines is not easy, despite its many benefits like broadband etc.
With this disconnection rate, within next 5-8 yrs we can see bsnl landline only in history. BSNL management has to sense this N come out of copper age and concentrate on fibre. Else we loose our broadband business to local isps and jio ftth. Immediately investment on copper has to be stopped N diverted to 4G N ftth.more 4G spectrum in premium band has to be procured from GOI at free of cost like 2G
Such good suggestions have to be considered favourably.
Suggestions are welcome
