Air pollution, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai

According to a report by the World Health Organisation(WHO), about 32,000 persons will die by toxic pollution in Delhi, probably the largest such number in the world. Kolkata and Mumbai are also seriously polluted and will result in high number of deaths.

All the governments ruled the country since Independence have only tried for benefit of themselves and not for the Capital city. The result : serious toxic pollution and death of people. Who will change the sad situation?

Now Government wants to destabilise the Public Sector banks – Licence granted for small finance banks.

Licenced financial Banks

The Public Sector Banks saved India from the 2007-08 recession which rocked US and European countries. They gave confidence and motivation to the customers that their money is safe in their hand. PSU Banks ensured the growth of the Nation. But the corporates, big businesses and MNCs are not happy with the growth of the PSU Banks. Now they want to destroy so that private banks can grow.

In order to weaken the Public Sector Banks, licences were given to Payment Banks. Department of  Posts were denied first, but the discrimination by not giving licence to Post Office, which are already providing Savings Bank, Fixed Deposits  services etc. was so exposed, the govt. gave it also. But all others were private companies, who got the licence.

Now the reserve bank has given small finance licence to 10 private companies to do banking. They are — Au Financiers (India) from Jaipur, Capital Local Area Bank, Disha Microfin Pvt Ltd from Ahmedabad, Equitas Holdings, ESAF Microfinance and Investments from Chennai, Janalakshmi Financial Services, Ujjivan Financial Services based in Bengaluru, RGVN (North East) Microfinance based in Guwahati, Suryoday Micro Finance from Navi Mumbai and Utkarsh Micro Finance based out of Varanasi.

This move is a licence for banking for looting the public. Neither the government will have any control, nor the Reserve Bank. It will be a jungle Raj. The nationalisation of the banks done in the 1960s which helped the country and the people are being destroyed.

It is just like the attack on the govt.telecom. First private entry was allowed, then weakening of BSNL/MTNL. Now so many bank licenses are given, Next step will be attack on the Public Sector Banks. I am sure the Bank Employees’ Organisations, which are united and strong will fight this brutal attack on their existence and defeat the government’s foul game.

unemployment, UP

Please read the following report in the “Times of India” which says that 23 lakh persons applied for 368 vacancies of peons in the state. The depth of the unemployment can be understood from the report. Prime Minister Modi assured about reducing the unemployment. Mr. PM, in the state from which you are elected, the unemployment is so serious that 23 lakhs have applied for 368 posts of peon.It is shame to you and the country. When this is going to change?

Extract of the report is given below:

“LUCKNOW: What could be the height of unemployment? The answer to this lies in UP where more than 23 lakh persons have applied against 368 posts of peon in the state secretariat. The number is almost half the population of Lucknow, which is 45 lakhs.

What is even more shocking is that over two lakh applicants are at least graduate with BTech, BSc, MSc and MCom degrees. Applications also include 255 candidates with a PhD degree in hand.

The figures come from department of Sachivalaya Administration which would be conducting the appointment. Prabhat Mittal, secretary, informed that candidates had to apply online against the advertised posts. “We were shocked to see the response,” Mittal said.

The recruitment was to be done through direct interview which may take a couple of years.”

At last, the CGMT Kerala, Shri MSS Rao, has been transferred from the CGM post. Shri Anantharam, Sr. GM, Eluru, has been posted in place.

It is a success for the BSNL workers of Kerala. BSNLEU, SNEA and BSNLCCWF have been on struggle demanding the transfer of the anti-worker CGM, against whom many allegations are there about corrupt practices.

The Unions have demanded the CMD BSNL to set aside all the suspensions, get withdrawn the FIRs etc in connection the struggle. CMD assured that this will done. Further the committee on wages of contract workers will start  functioning from 18th September onwards.

The Kerala Circle Unions will discuss and take the decisions about the ongoing struggle.

The Hunger Strike against victimisation of Kerala Comrades and other programmes decided in this connection by CHQ of all the   three unions has been withdrawn.

We Congratulate the employees and workers of Kerala for their steadfast struggle which compelled the transfer of CGM and assuring the vacation of victimisation.
