It is reported in the press that CMD BSNL has stated that the proposal for subsidiary Tower Company, hived off from BSNL, is awaiting decision of the government. it is also reported that by hiving off towers, an amount of about Rs. 20,000 crore can be collected, but the same will be with the new company.
Workers have got very serious reservation on this proposal.It will seriously and adversely affect BSNL.
Before any final decision is taken, discussion with the Forum of BSNL Unions/Associations should be conducted and their opinion considered.

The tower company may be profitable.But the financial viability of BSNL will go down.
Sir, what about bsnl wage revision……..did there is any move on management side…….every employee is eagerly waiting for that because central government employees are getting pay commission on 2016 by good increase of salaries
CG Employees last wage revision was in 2006 and their next is after 10 years in 2016. BSNL employees got wage revision in 2007 and is due in 2017. Unions have already raised the issue.
Please explain in detail how does it affect BSNL.
BSNL gets funds by renting /sharing the towers. All these will go to the new Tower Company. Further, BSNL will have to pay to the Tower company for sharing the same. This is only one aspect, but important one.
