The loss/profit and marker share of each circle of BSNL have been published in this blog and also are well known to the leaders of the Forum at Circle/SSA levels. In some circles, the market share is even low up to 5 to 3%. This means that out of 100 telephones provided in the circle only 5 to 3 telephones only are from BSNL. Is it not a pathetic situation? Expenditure has not come down any where. In fact, it might have increased also.
The Forum leaders at Circle level should sit together and discuss why this has happened, and how it can be improved within the limitations the company and workers are in. Even a slight increase in the market share will be a matter of pride. BSNL workers have to show that they are not behind any body in their duties and they are doing everything to improve services to the customer.
Any suggestion from any visitor will be much appreciated.
THE FORUM LEADERS SHOULD NOT SIT AND THINK WHY IT HAS HAPPEN. INSTEAD THEY SHOULD SET AN EXAMPLE BY GETTING INTO ACTION. GO TO THE AREA AND PROVIDE CONNECTION THEMSELVES. SET AN EXAMPLE. SITTING SOME WHERE AND ADVISING WILL NOT WORK. ACTION IS REQUIRED THAT TOO BY SETTING EXAMPLE.
Leaders of the Union/Forum are workers who have been doing excellent work in their own areas and have come to HQrs elected by the workers. Usually union leaders are best workers and that is one reason why they are elected. A leader who is inefficient will not be able to lead the workers.
As far as I am concerned, at the time in Kerala, I had very close connection with the customers and we, as unions have been very customer friendly. Even now the Kerala Unions keep the same. You will be knowing that even while there is loss in All India, Kerala is posting profit and increasing. The subscribers also want to keep BSNL Connections. Market share is about 21% while, the All India share is about 8% only.
BSNL services come under attack in Lok SabhaMay 6, 2015 02:41 PM , By PTIRavi Shankar Prasad promptly promisedto do the needful to improve the services in the Parliament House.Members in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday came down heavily on BSNL for “poor” services across the country as the government defended the telecom operator saying it has been suffering since the days of UPA government.Discussing the BSNL services in various parts of the country, BJP member Sanjay Dhotre wondered whether some of the BSNL employees were working for private operators as they were “not interested” improving its own services, thus helping private companies to expand their networks. This invited applause from the opposition benches during the Question Hour, leading Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad to say that the health of BSNL had deterioratedsince the days of Congress-led UPA regime.Mr. Prasad said the government-run telecom operator had once made profitsof Rs. 10,000 crore but was now incurring losses to the tune of Rs. 8,000 crore. He also refuted members’ suggestions that some BSNL employees were helping the private telecom operators by providing “poor” services to its own subscribers.Another BJP member Gajendra Singh Shekhawat too received support from opposition members when he said that the wi-fi and broadband services provided inside the Parliament House complex was also not up to the mark.To this, Mr. Prasad promptly promised to do the needful to improve the services in the Parliament House. He said the tele-density rate in urban areas was now 168 per cent while in rural areas it was 47 per cent. The national tele-density stood at 78.73 per cent as in February.Out of around five lakh villages in the country, only around 55,000 villages do not have telecom network.“Lack of telecom network in these villages is due to their locations. Some are located in Maoist-affected areas, some in hilly terrain or some of them are in remote areas in the Northeast,” hesaid.Mr. Prasad said the Licensed Service Areas of Bihar, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, North Eastern states and Rajasthan have tele-density below the national level. The variation in tele-density was primarily due to socio-economic advancement and availability of adequate telecom infrastructure in the area, he said.
