It has been intimated by BSNL Management that the meeting with Secretary DOT to discuss strike demands has been rescheduled and now will take place at 05.00 PM on 27th April 2015.
The meeting was fixed earlier on 25th April 2015.
those God damn secretaries are always unable to manage their time for working class people like us and surprisingly they have a lot of time for every corporates, their parties and so on..still we say Mera Desh Mahan..these days it sounds ridiculous
iti employees are not getting salary for the past 5 months.this govt is not at all bothered about employees of sick psus.psus are becoming sick because govt has allowed competition.all the employees of electricity board employees are getting salary ,wage revision though they are making huge losses,
The need of the hour is to amend psu act and fix the responsibility on the govt to ensure all the benefits to so employees of sick psus.
it is almost impossible for sick psus to generate funds on its own.
govt should own the responsibility.
Exactly. It is because of the neo-liberal and anti-PSU policy of the government that the PSUs are becoming sick. Just take the case of ITI, HMT, MTNL etc. They were all making good profit, but the government actions have made them sick. Government should take the responsibility to revive them.
mr.nambhoodri, government can give fund to a psu if it is required for the business activity. If a psu is facing other than fund related problem then how a govt can revive a psu.
Take for example iti ltd was given fund infusion twice in the past five years.yet iti could not be revived.iti is sick today because of competition in telecom sector, technology changes etc.so,any amount of fund infusion by govt will not revive iti.
Under those situation, sick psu employees should be paid regular salary by the govt
That is why we should amend the psu act and ensure timely payment of salary to sick psus by govt.
Ther are many sick psus which can not be revived by just injecting fund.
so govt should announce attractive golden handshake to sick psus which can not be revived.
For iti, govt is neither paying salary nor golden handshake.
It is not because of the competition, but it is because of the neo-liberal policy of the government, which supports the private sector and discriminate its own companies that the PSUs are becoming sick. All these sick PSUs were profit making at one time. They had good cash balance also. How Air India became sick is well known. How ITI is made sick is also known. What about HMT? While complete freedom is available, PSUs and their activities are fully controlled by the government. Whenever there is any cash balance with PSUs, it is taken by the government on some pretext or other. Butwhen the PSU is need of money government will not give. These are all the experience of the PSUs for the last three decades. Despite this situation, SAIL was able to bounce back, Air India is coming back and some other PSUs also may become profit making.
In Kerala, during the LDF government all the loss making PSUs were made profit making after much effort. But once the UDF government came to power, all these PSUs became in loss. As seen, it is mainly the anti-PSU, pro-corporate policy of the government which is working against the PSUs.
all the psus like hmt, iti, bsnl were making profit because they were monopoly at that time.Because of competirion many psus have become sick.
You mean to say govt should not allow competition in areas whwre psus operate.
According to me psus becoming sick is inevitable. At the same time efforts should be made to protect the interest of sick psu employees.psus are becoming sick not due to the employees fault.
please do not focus on psu revival but focus on protecting employee interest when psus become sick.
psus may fail due to various reasons.but employees interest should be protected.
Employees’ interest as well as PSU’s interest are important. Revival of PSUs are important for various reasons. And despite serious competition many PSUs are still far ahead of private companies in their sectors just like LIC, General Insurance, SAIL, Oil Companies etc.
