According to the Report of the PMEAC chaired by C.Rangarajan, 29.5 % of the population in India are poor. This means almost 1/3 of the population. This is calculated on the basis that persons spending below Rs. 47/- are treated as poor.
Even 6 decades after Independence, this is the sad situation. Rich becomes richer and poor becomes poorer. Whether it is UPA or NDA, the policy is tilted towards the rich and powerful. The poor sections are ignored. A revolutionary change is required.
