Dear Comrade,
You have stated that you are a regular reader of the journal and visit the blog also. You may be attending the general body meetings/conferences of the union also. The issue is very important to the union and it wants to settle the same at the earliest.
Each wage revision, while there is good benefits, results in some anomalies also. Whether you take all the Central Py Commissions from I to VI as also the I and II wage revisions in BSNL, anomalies have cropped up. A few of them are settled but many are still under discussion and agitation. In the Central Government, many anomalies in the V CPC(1996) and VI CPC (2006) are yet not resolved. In BSNL the anomaly of seniors getting less than juniors, adversely affecting more than 30 thousand employees seriously affecting their pension also is yet not settled after struggles and agitations. Even after a court case in favour of the employees, the management has not implemented to all affected employees but only to those who have gone to the court, after the SC rejected the petition of the management. But the union has not left the case. The Union is pressurising to settle the same. it was an item in the present strike notice also.
In the same way, the deduction of salary of the post-2007 employees is a very serious anomaly of the II Wage revision affecting thousands of employees recruited after 2007. Even st the time of the wage revision, it was taken and pay protection was given. But that has not solved the problem. BSNLEU has been taking up the issue with the management in all forums. In the last strike notice, this was given maximum importance and also in the first national council meeting after the membership verification detailed discussion took place. Management assured to take certain decisions in this case, but so far they had not spelt out. A committee is also looking in to the matter. The BSNLEU is committed to settle the issue and fight for it.
