As per the telecom statistics for August 2013, the total Teledensity in the country is 74.86%.
Airtel leads the total connections with 19.55 crore connections(21.58%), followed by Vodafone with 15.43 crore (17.04%), Reliance with 12.79 crore( 14.12%) and Idea with 12.60 crore (13.91%). BSNL-MTNL is in the fifth position with a total number of 12.50 crore connections with 13.80%.
Now the synergy between BSNL and MTNL is being finalised the total connections of both PSUs have been taken together.
