There is good news for the senior officials whose demand to grant them stepping up of pay to that of their juniors in the junior scale, due to point to point fixation in the pay revision, was rejected by the management.
This was agreed to at the time of the pay revision itself. A committee consisting the staff side and official side recommended stepping up of pay. This was approved by the Management Committee and BSNL Board, but was rejected by the DOT, since they have to pay pension on that.
Some officials in Kerala has gone to the CAT and a judgement was got to step up pay. BSNL went on appeal to High Court which was rejected. The CHQ BSNLEU put a strong demand to implement the court judgement, but instead management went on SLP to Supreme Court. Now the Supreme Court has dismissed the SLPin case Nos. SLP NO. CC 4124 of 2012 CC 4142 of 2012 CC 4173 of 2012. After many years, the management has lost its case. It has now to implement the agreement it made with the union earlier of stepping up of the pay of the senior to the junior in the junior scale who got more than the senior in the wage revision.
The BSNL management should immediately implement the court judgement without any delay. The seniors will get justice now.

I was posted as TO in Rajasthan on 17th April 1971. On promotion joined as J.E. on 04/01/1979. This post was subsequently re-designated as JTO. Passed qualifying Exam and subsequently passed Competition exam and posted as AE at Bombay on 29th July 1988. This post was subsequently re designated as SDE. I got further promotion as Ad hoc DE (STS) on dated 13th May 1999 in between as officiated in part as DE from 1997 to 12th May 1999. On formation of BSNL started getting less to all my juniors up to 1982 recruited JE. This post was regularized in 2009. Will you help me on this issue. At present the case is under CAT. I have retired on 31 May 2012.

Very good news for senior employees drawing less basic pay to that of the juniors.Sir, can you Pl give further reference of BSNL Corporate office to implement the court orders reqd to settle such pay anomaly cases lying in subordinate office.
BSNLEU and AIBDPA are continuously making all out efforts for getting the issue settled.
Whether the judgement in the stepping up case recommends implementation of the stepping up to all staff including those who not approached CAT or Court ?
I do not think so.
