At the time when 150 nations’ heads are meeting in Paris Summit to discuss about the climate change and how to reduce gas emissions, protest rallies are being held in many countries demanding the summit to take concrete decisions to reduce the greenhouses gases so that the world is saved from the coming catastrophe.

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated in his speech in the summit, India is suffering much more due to climate change, even though it is  far behind in the list of countries emitting greenhouse gases. it is to be noted that the developed countries like US are leading the gas emissions.

US takes responsibility to fix climate – President Obama

In his speech at the Paris Summit on Climate Change, which is attended by 150 nations’ heads,  US President Barack Obama has stated that US embraces responsibility to fix climate. As the second top most emitter country of greenhouse gases, it is correctly the responsibility of US to take the lead. But so far, US has not done much to reduce emission of greenhouses gases, but was compelling the developing countries like India to do so.

Let us hope that the assurance is not a passing remark and will be implemented.

German Transport Minister Alexander Dobrindt has exposed the lies of the Auto Giant Volkswagen that the emission issue was only for the cars manufactured for US, stating that the cars supplied in Germany also do not have the regulatory emission standard.

Cheating by this auto giant seems to be in all countries. Whether government of India will test and find out the truth of the cars supplied in India?

WASHINGTON The United States on Friday issued regulations easing restrictions on American companies seeking to do business in Cuba and opening up travel in the latest action to weaken the U.S. trade embargo amid warming relations with the Communist country.
The rules, which take effect on Monday, Sept. 21, target travel, telecommunications, Internet-based services, business operations and banking, and allow U.S. companies to establish a presence in Cuba. They also eliminate limits on the amount of money people can send back to the Caribbean nation.
“A stronger, more open U.S.-Cuba relationship has the potential to create economic opportunities for both Americans and Cubans alike,” U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew said in a statement.
“By further easing these sanctions, the United States is helping to support the Cuban people in their effort to achieve the political and economic freedom necessary to build a democratic, prosperous, and stable Cuba,” he said. (Press Reports)

Cuba, US restore diplomatic relations

Cuba, Diplomatic relations, US

Cuba and US have restored their diplomatic relations today, 20th July 2015 after five decades. The breaking off the relations at the time of John F. Kennedy, President US and Fidel Castro, President Cuba is restored now. US broke the relations on the plea of Cuba’s closeness with Communist USSR.

Between this period, the isolation of Cuba changed and most of the countries in the Latin America as well as in the continent restored friendly relations with Cuba. US was almost isolated. This was one important reason for the compulsion for US to change its stance. However, still there are many critics in the US against this decision taken by President Barak Obama.

We heartily welcome the present restoration of the diplomatic relations between US and Cuba.

A US senator, Sen Tom Udall, leading a delegation to Cuba has predicted that US and Cuba are just weeks away from full diplomatic relations.

This is good news. Let us hope that the diplomatic  relations be restored at the earliest. The economic blockade and the breaking of the diplomatic relations have caused much harm, especially to Socialist Cuba. A positive change is required.

Cuba, US

It was only  two years after Cuban Revolution in 1959 and formation of Communist Government headed by Comrade Fidel Castro that US imperialists made a well planned attack at Bay of Pigs to defeat and destabilise the Communist government. However, the attack was defeated by the Cuban people and the government. It was on 17th April 1961, 54 years back.

Now both Cuban President Raul Castro and US President Barak Obama has agreed to restore diplomatic relations which has been withdrawn by both countries decades back. Let us hope that the relations will further improve.
