Bihar Debacle – Strong Criticism of BJP leadership by Party veterans

The election debacle in the Bihar  is having strong reaction in the BJP. In addition to the strong criticism against  Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Party President Amit Shah by many BJP leaders in Bihar,  four veterans of the party viz.  L.K.Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Shanta Kumar and Yeshwant Sinha have spoken sharply against the leadership. They severely criticised the assessment of the party that all are jointly responsible for the debacle. Both Advani and Joshi are former BJP Presidents and present Marg Darshaks. They continued that  those who would have appropriated credit if the party had won are bent on shrugging of responsibility for the debacle. They also stated that a thorough review is required for the defeat as well as the way the party is being forced to kow-tow to a handful. They stated that the review “must not be done by the very persons who have managed and who have been responsible for the campaign in Bihar”.

There will be many in the BJP, who may support the view now, but  were afraid to say anything against the Mod-Amit Shah earlier.

FDI galore in all sectors – NDA government on mad drive for FDI

Is reforms mean that Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) should be brought in all sectors, including defence and other crucial sectors? It seems the thinking of the Modi Government.

In order to divert the attention from the dismal defeat in the Bihar elections, the government has declared easing FDI norms in 15 sectors including defence, retail trading, construction, broadcasting etc. The MNCs and corporates have been pointing out lack of governance and the NDA government has immediately reacted to pacify them, who are the real masters.

The FDI has been increased to 100% in Construction, Broadcasting, ground handling in air-ports, Plantation etc. It is raised to 74%/ 49% in defence and other sectors. Now the corporates will stop criticising Modi for the Bihar debacle, since they got what they wanted.

It is also relevant that every time the Prime Ministers (including Dr.Man Mohan Singh) leave for US or UK, they take advance bail by announcing many favourable decisions for the MNCs. You can not blame anybody, if they say that the Indian Government has joined the band wagon of the USA & UK.

New Delhi, November 8 : The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:

The CPI(M) congratulates the people of Bihar who have given a resounding defeat to the BJP alliance in the assembly elections. They have rejected the rank communal campaign conducted by the BJP, led by the Narendra Modi-Amit Shah duo with divisive issues like cow and beef and the bogey of reservations for minorities.

The decisive victory of the JD(U)-RJD alliance is a clear indication that the BJP-RSS brand of politics is getting increasingly exposed. It is also an indication that the eighteen month record of the BJP central government which has imposed economic burdens on the people has met with disapproval.

The Bihar verdict will strengthen the fight against the right wing communal forces.

 

Six Left Parties jointly will contest Bihar Elections

Patna, Sept 7 : Six major Left parties today joined hands to contest the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections and vowed to fight the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led JD(U)-RJD-Congress grand alliance.

Asserting that they were starting an “agitation” for the state, which would “defeat feudal, communal and corporate forces”, the Left parties said they have come together to provide an option to the public to provide “people’s rule” in the true sense.

The six Left parties which joined hands today include the Communist Party of India (CPI), CPI(M), CPI(ML), Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI)(Communist), All India Forward Bloc and Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) and were currently in the process of finalising the seat-sharing for the 243-member Assembly.
