Wage Revision discussion started in BSNL – Pension Revision should be given with 15% fitment as recommended by III PRC.

BSNL unions have agreed for 0% fitment and the wage negotiation committee has been formed. The 0% fitment is considered due to the non-affordability of BSNL. But Pension is given by Government, the absorbed BSNL employees now retired were government servants, Ist and 2nd wage agreement and pension revision has been based on I and II PRC recommendations and hence the pension revision from 2017 should be with 15% as recommended by the III PRC.

Government should act without delay.

Wage Negotiation Joint Committee formed in BSNL for Non-Executives.

After a long period of delay, the Wage Negotiation Committee for the Non-Executives in BSNL has been formed with representatives of the Management and the recognised unions. BSNLEU has got 5 members and NFTE 3. The first meeting is scheduled to be held on 18th November 2021.

Help Line for Senior Citizens, Elder Line – 14567

The central government has launched the first pan-India toll-free helpline–14567–for senior citizens called the ‘Elder Line’, which will aims to provide free information and guidance on pension and legal issues, extend emotional support, and intervene in cases of abuse.

Utilize the service, when necessary.

SCFWA Kerala State Convention at Ernakulam on 25th Nov. 2021

Senior Citizens friends Welfare Association (SCFWA) is the biggest organisation of the senior citizens in Kerala. It has got branches and district committees all over the state. It regularly takes up the issues of the elderly with the government and offers voluntary service. It is part of the Vayojana Council in the state. A monthly ‘Vayojana Vartha’ is published by the association.

The State Convention of SCFWA will be held at Ernakulam on 25th November 2021, which will be inaugurated by the Kerala Minister Smt. R.Bindu.

Mullapperiyar Dam issues – Mutual discussion required

Some of the vested media in Kerala as well as T.Nadu are trying to create problems with regard to the differences of opinion between the governments of Kerala and T.Nadu on the issues of the height of the Mullapperiyar dam as also whether a new dam should be constructed.

The best method is to sort out the issue through discussion between the state governments and if necessary through the intervention of the Supreme Court, in which the issue is already there.

Central Govt. Health Scheme (CGHS) services should be improved

Central Govt. Health Scheme is a welfare scheme for treatment of the central government officials as well as Central Ministers,M.P.s etc. In addition to the hospitals in the capital Delhi, it has got many hospitals and units in all parts of the country. But needs so many improvements and more facilities to cater to the need of its patients. A few important issues of them are adequate supply of medicines and sufficient staff. The Central government employees unions have taken these issues with the government. Let us hope for early results.

Mighty Protest demonstrations against National Monetisation Pipeline by BSNLEU-AIBDPA-BSNLCCWF.

As per the call of the co-ordinating committee of BSNLEU-AIBDPA-BSNLCCWF, mighty demonstrations were held in front of BSNL offices /Exchanges all over the country against the central government initiated National Monetisation Pipeline (NMP), which is moving ahead to hand over the valuable Public Sector Units (PSUs) to the corporates. Optical Fibre cables and Towers of BSNL and MTNL are proposed to be handed over to the private telecom companies, which will be disastrous for the people as well as BSNL. The photos and details of these protest demonstrations will be published in the websites of the concerned unions.

124th Anniversary of October Revolution

November 7th is the 124th Anniversary of the great October Revolution led by Com.V.I.Lenin, which resulted in the formation of Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), the first Socialist state in the world. It gave an impetus formation of more socialist states as also Independence of many countries, including India, getting liberated from their colonial masters. In winning the II World War defeating the axis powers – Germany, Japan and Italy – USSR had a significant role. By 1990s, USSR fell apart, but other socialist countries remain.

Modi Govt. and BSNL should stop attack on BSNL Pensioners. Render justice to Pensioners.

By delaying and denying Pension Revision from 01-01-2017, denying payment of medical allowance /medical reimbursement and not paying arrears of DR confiscated for 18 months, the government / BSNL is attacking the rightful claims of the BSNL pensioners. This is most condemnable.

Government /BSNL management ensure that the above claims are paid without any further delay.

Co-Ordination Committee calls for Demonstration on 9th November as part of its agitational programmes against NMP.

Central government has announced National Monetisation Pipeline, which is intended to sell the central PSUs to private corporates for meagre price. The central trade unions have planned serious struggles and are going to hold a National Convention at Delhi on 11th November.

The Co-ordination Committee of BSNLEU, AIBDPA and BSNLCCWF had planned a massive campaign against NMP. As the first step, demonstrations will be held on 9th November 2021 in front of BSNL Offices.
