I have reached Nagercoil to participate in the 3rd All India Conference of BSNL Casual Contract Workers Federation. I met the Reception Committee members who are fully engaged with arrangements for the holding of the Conference. Many delegates have already arrived. Modi Government had stated that it expected about about Rs. 7,000 crores black money will come out by way of the chance given to persons to declare the same. But after the expiry of the last date only Rs. 3,770 has been declared by 638 persons. There are thousands of persons still to declare. What action the government is going to take?

Today, 2nd October 2015, is the 136th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. The nation observes the day as Gandhi Jayanti.
During these almost one and half century, the world has changed more than it has changed in thousands of years. The colonial powers have been weakened and number of countries got freedom, like India. The technology in all spheres have advanced and is advancing in every second to say.
But still, India is grappling with severe poverty. The rich has become richer and the poor, the poorer. About 40% are still illiterate. Social justice is not available to crores of people. Brutal exploitation continues.
The ideals and wishes of Gandhiji are forgotten by the rulers of this country. Mere celebration of Gandhi Jayanti is not sufficient. Action is required for the uplift of the Daridranarayanas.
We pay respectful homage to the Father of the Nation on this day!

BSNL will provide a minimum speed of 2mbps for its broadband customers from 1st October 2015, instead of earlier 512 kbps. Today is the 15th anniversary of BSNL.

BSNL, the telecom PSU, will provide a minimum broadband speed of 2mbps from today to its customers, from the earlier 512kbps. This is probably a gift on the 15th anniversary of BSNL. BSNL was formed on 1st October 2000.

Congress has attacked the Modi government and specifically Communications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad responsible for call drops and demanded his immediate resignation.
Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, on his part, stated that the UPA government is fully responsible for the poor condition of BSNL and MTNL.
The fact is that both NDA as well as UPA are responsible for the call drops and the present condition of both BSNL and MTNL.
As in the case of competing in supporting and providing all help to the corporates and the MNCs by both Congress and BJP, both of them should support BSNL and MTNL, instead of trying to finish them off.
