Stop RSS-BJP Attack in Kerala – CPI(M)

New Delhi, May 22: The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:

The BJP is leveling false allegations about violence by the CPIM) against BJP workers in Kerala. BJP workers have held a demonstration at the Central Committee office of the CPI(M) and indulged in vandalism.

The BJP leadership is adopting a hypocritical and dishonest position about what has actually happened in Kerala.

On the 19th of May when the results were declared, CPI(M) workers took out a victory procession in Pinarayi which is in the constituency of Chief Minister designate, Pinarayi Vijayan. This procession was attacked by the BJP-RSS workers resulting in the death of C.V. Raveendran, a 53 year old member of the CPI(M). His son Jishen and four others were injured.

In Kasargode district in the Kanhangad constituency, the victory procession of the LDF candidate and sitting CPI MLA E Chandrashekaran was attacked by BJP workers. Chandrashekaran’s hand was fractured and CPI(M) leader A K Narayanan and others were injured. On the same day, a bomb was hurled at a CPI(M) rally in Mattanoor, Kannur district, where four people were injured.

In Trikkaripur in Kasargode district, BJP men attacked youth workers of the CPI(M) in which one comrade was injured.

In Nemom, Thiruvananthapuram district, BJP workers attacked the local committee office of the CPI(M) after the results were announced. There were numerous such attacks across the state.

It is evident from the above incidents that it was the BJP which initiated this bout of violence after the results were declared.

The people of Kerala gave a resounding verdict in favour of the LDF. It is against this democratic verdict of the people that the BJP launched attacks in various places against the CPI(M) and the LDF. Such attacks will not be tolerated by the people.

Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Cabinet Minister, instead of issuing threats to the CPI(M) should ensure that his Party unit in Kerala stops making such violent attacks.

As far as the CPI(M) and the LDF are concerned, they will contribute to maintaining peace and avoiding any clashes. (Courtesy: Ganashakti)

Railway workers’ Strike in France

Paris, May 18 : Strikes by French railway and port workers halved train services and prompted cancellation of ferry links to Britain on Wednesday as labor unions sought to force President Francois Hollande’s government into retreat on labor law reforms.

The strike is a full success crippling the entire train services. The labour law reforms which are anti-workers are strongly opposed by the unions. They have been protesting and demanding the withdrawal of the same.

Today, 20th May 2016, is the 25th death anniversary of Com.M.K.Kelu,(affectionately called Keluettan), who was a veteran leader of the CPI(M) and toiling masses. His entire life was dedicated for the service of the people. He is one of the leaders of the old generation, who sacrificed their all fighting for the freedom of the country and the for the welfare of the people. Keluettan had to face severe attacks, including physical attacks, both from the British Government and the Congress government. Several times he was put in jail for years together. He continued as a bachelor and his life was dedicated to party. He was the District Secretary of the CPI(M), Calicut for many years and also functioned as MLA.

Since I came to Calicut in 1964 on transfer, I had the privilege  of getting advice and guidance from him in the trade union activities till he passed away.

Red Salute to Com. Keluettan on his 25th death anniversary!

Red Flag flutters high in Kerala

Tags

The people of Kerala has done it. They have voted the LDF in to power with a huge majority. Out of the total 140 seats, it secured 91 and reduced the corrupt Congress led UDF to a mere 47 seats. The CPI(M) alone got 63 seats. Many UDF ministers went down like pack of cards. While the LDF candidates won with good majority, most of the UDF candidates won with reduced majority. There are 8 women elected all of whom belongs to LDF. A good number of LDF winners are young comrades. While in Kollam District all the seats are won by LDF, it got all seats except one in Thrissur.

Now it is for the LDF to implement its poll assurances. A clean administration with development agenda, restoration of the PSUs to past glory, safety of women, continued fight against majority and minority communalism and so on.

Best Wishes for a corruption free, people oriented government with full developmental agenda!

The Left Democratic Front (LDF) has won a magnificent victory in the assembly elections in Kerala. It got 91 seats out of a total on 140 seats. The ruling UDF, led by Congress has been reduced to just 47, an ever time low. BJP  opened an account with one seat, which they could not do till this time.

We congratulate the people of Kerala for the spectacular victory of the LDF!
