Modi government compelled to reduce GST in certain cases

Tags

The strong protest from all over India, including from the BJP ruled states against the increased prices for food articles and common usages, the Central Government has been compelled  to reduce the  GST in some cases. However, these decisions are mostly in support of the small traders, small business etc. Whether this will reflect in the increased prices of essential articles is yet to be seen.

In such a situation, the agitations against the increased GST should continue to make the government to act fast to reduce the misery of the people due to GST.

Once again Kerala creates history by appointing Temple priests from Dalits, OBCs.

The decision of the Travancore Devaswom Board, Kerala, to appoint temple priests from dalits and other backward  classes is most appreciated. This is a welcome step. Along with 26 Brahmins, these priests from OBCs and dalits have been appointed. This is a bold decision and is to be considered by the other temple managements also.

The Struggle for Wage revision in BSNL and against Formation of Subsidiary Tower Company.

Congratulations to the BSNL Unions and Associations for taking strong agitational programmes, including strike, on the demands of  early wage revision in BSNL and against formation of Subsidiary Tower Company.

Since all the earlier struggles on wage revision included the demand of Pension Revision also, it is suggested that the demand of Pension Revision w.e.f. 01-01-2017 for BSNL pensioners be  included in this Charter of Demands!

As on earlier instances, the BSNL pensioners will be there along with the workers with full solidarity and support.

Taj Mahal not in UP Tourist List; Temple for Modi.

Two reports published in today’s The Hindu are given below:

  1. The U.P. government headed by Yogi Adityanath has removed Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world, from its tourist map.
  2. A temple is being built at Meerut, U.P., for Narendra Modi, Prime Minister, so that his admirers can worship him.

Naturally the question arises: Whether the murthy(idol) of Yogi Adityanath will be installed in Gorakhpur temple, where he is the high priest?

Coal India Limited proposes VRS

Govt. denies permission to ONGC for deep sea production of gas

Instances are daily being reported about the complete anti-PSU stand of the government. The latest is the denial by the Directorate General of Hydro carbons to the ONGC to produce gas from ultra deep sea on the plea of technological challenges to be faced. It is to be noted that such ultra deep gas production is being made in the Gulf of Mexico and other places.

It is not the question of technical challenges that is being faced, but the pro-capitalistic corporate stand of the government that is the reason for denial of permission. The government wants the private companies to get the benefit and not the PSU,  ONGC. It is certain that tomorrow or later the private corporates will be given such permission.

The people have not forgotten many such instances like licence to provide mobile services, which was granted to the newly formed private telecom companies, while the same was denied to Telecom Department, BSNL and MTNL, existing players, for many years.
