Gratuity for casual labours

Gratuity issue for the casual labours —Corporate Office issued another quarries to the circles.
Corporate Office issued another reminder to collect the number of casual labours who have expired or left the dept after formation of BSNL. Though most of the circles where casual labours are recorded in big number had sent the figure long days back. But the management is not so serious to settle the issue. They are passing the time without any logic. The govt rule is very clear that any labour who is in 5 years continuous service in any establishment is eligible to get the benefit of Gratuity.

BSNL Casual and Contract Workers Federation has taken up the issue of Gratuity for the casual and contract labours with the BSNL Management. BSNL Management has also taken up the issue in the board meeting. BSNL employees union has also taken up the issue in the 35th National Council meeting. Perhaps the next NC meeting will be held on 13th of this month. That’s why they have asked the circles about the latest information. In the last occasion when we met Dir.(HR) and made a request to settle the gratuity issue without further delay. Hope, this time we will get some new information to settle the gratuity issue. Illiteracy a fertile ground for exploiters

Illiteracy is a fertile ground for exploitation. The lakh of enthusiasm by the central governments, under both BJP and Congress, for a literate nation has close connection with exploitation.

Government keen on cashless system, but not on literacy

The central government is putting harsh measures for a cashless system for ease of business, but is a harassment to people, especially uneducated in new technology.

Why can’t the government take more interest in literacy which will help people shifting to new technology?

The answer is clear. Modi government want the people to be uneducated so that the capitalists, corporates, financiers, money lenders etc. can cheat them. Further, the government also can cheat.

Unions oppose Air India privatisation

The Air India Unions’ Joint Forum has strongly criticised the move for privatisation of Air India and demanded that AI be retained in Public Sector. The Joint Forum consists of 7 officers and employees unions.

The Joint Forum also decided to hold  a National Convention at New Delhi to chalk out future strategy and action programmes.

Opposition to privatisation is strengthening in all PSUs. A good sign.

Delhi Chalo ! Participate in Maha Padav !

Lakhs of workers from all parts of the country will be flooding Delhi streets, participating in the Maha Padav (Maha Dharna) called for by the Central Trade Unions, Federations of Central and State government employees, PSUs etc. etc. The dharna is being organised in protest against the anti-worker policies of the government and also demanding settlement of the Charter of Demands which has been served to the government.

Participate in large numbers! The Maha Padav will be a warning to the government.

Protest Day on 8th November 2017

The Left Parties have given call to organise Protest  Day on 8th November 2017 against the anti-worker policies of the central government including imposition of Demonetisation, GST etc. which have made the life of the people miserable. The unprecedented increase in the price of petrol and cooking gas has made every thing costlier making it difficult to make  both ends meet. Public Sector units are either privatised or closed to suit the requirement of the private corporates both Indian and Multi-National.  Organise the Protest Day with massive participation.

The major cities like Chennai, Mumbai etc. are facing heavy rains and floods almost every year for some time. Despite the painful experience,  it seems that nothing is being done to avert this catastrophe.

The Central and state government have to rise to the occasion and do the needful to save the situation and reduce the agony of the people.
