Nelson Mandela passed away

Nelson Mandela, a legend in his own life and the charismatic leader who led S.Africa to freedom from White supremacy, died yesterday night (08.50 PM S.African time). During the struggle against apartheid and for freedom, Mandela was put in isolated prison for more than 2 decades. He was the first Black President of S.Africa and led the country forward.
The entire world will be mourning the death of this great world leader.

My heartfelt condolence to the people of S.Africa in their great loss. Revolutionary Greetings to the memory of Nelson Mandela!

Dr.BR Ambedkar

Bharat Ratna Dr.B.R.Ambedkar, was not only the architect of the Constitution of India, but is one of the greatest Indians ever lived.
His entire life was a struggle for justice – justice to the downtrodden, justice to the under-privileged, justice for the common people of the country. He had to suffer all kinds of humiliations only because he was born in the ‘lowest caste’.
It was through sustained and continuous hard work that he reached the highest position in service of the people.
On this day, 6th December, 57 years earlier, he passed away, but still shines in the minds of the people as before or probably more.

My Respectful Homage to the memory of Dr. Ambedkar on Mahaparinirwan Diwas, the death anniversary!

Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad – A Freedom Fighter forgotten?

Maualana Abdul Kalam Azad

Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad was the first Education Minister in Independent India. He was one of the foremost leaders of the Independence Struggle and was the President of the Indian National Congress in the Delhi Session 1923. Under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, there were the next level of leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Rajendra Prasad, Vallabhai Patel, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, Subhash Chandra Bose, Jagjivan Ram and others.
A strong nationalist, Azad made all efforts to ensure for a united India. He was part of the Revolutionary movement of Bengal and was externed out of the state. He started the journal Al-Hilal and propagated the revolutionary ideas. He tried to stop Muslims from leaving India. He was well studied and as the first Education Minister from 1947 to 1958 placed a strong foundation for the education system. He passed away on 22nd February 1958. He was awarded the highest award of the nation Bharat Ratna in 1992.
But it seems that the nation, or at least the rulers, has forgotten him. Today is the 125th Birth Anniversary of Maulana Azad, having been born on 11th November 1888. Except a few advertisements in a few newspapers by the government, no important programmes are known or advertised.
The tomb or Mausoleum of Maulana Azad is near the historic Jama Mazjid in Delhi. But it is in a complete neglected state and street vendors are misusing it for their business. No maintenance is being done. It is time that this injustice to the memory of the Maulana is undone. His contribution to the country has been very valuable.

Com.Suchitra Lekhre passed away.

With great shock and sorrow, it is informed that Comrade Suchitra Lekhre, Sr. TOA Indore and Asst. Circle Treasurer of BSNLEU, M.P., is no more. She was suffering from cancer for the last few months and succumbed to the same at 13.30 hours today, 10th November 2013.
Comrade Suchitra is the wife of Comrade S.M.Lekhre, senior BSNLEU leader and present District Secretary of AIBDPA, Indore. Both are active workers of BSNLEU, and earlier AITE Union E.III (Namboodiri). At the time of Bhopal All India Conference in Bhopal in 1991, Com. Lekhre has played a big role for the success of Com.Moni-Namboodiri panel. Both were active in progressive movements.
I had the opportunity to visit the Lekhres in their house along with other comrades much earlier. This time, when I visited Indore three months earlier to inaugurate the AIBDPA District Union, Com. Suchitra Lekhre, though she was seriously suffering, attended the same and met me and remembered my earlier visit to their house. That was the last time I met her. And today at about 14.00 hours, Com. Prakash Sharma, Dist. Secretary, BSNLEU, Indore, intimated by SMS the sudden death of our dear comrade.
Com. Suchitra leaves behind her husband Com. S.M.Lekhre and one son and one daughter.
I convey my heartfelt condolences to Com.Lekhre and family and comrades! It is a great loss.

Che Guevara, Martyrdom

Che Guevara, one of the greatest revolutionaries the world has ever seen, was murdered by the imperialists and their stooges on this day, 9th October 1967, in the forest of Bolivia, where he was fighting for the freedom of the country.

He was with Fidel Castro on their siege of Cuba for making the country free. He was a Minister of Cuba in the Fidel Castro Communist Government, but left every thing and went to Bolivia to continue his revolutionary activities. He was caught and killed in cold-blood.

Che Guevara Born on 14-06-1928.  Martyrdom 09-October 1967.

Red Salute Comrade! You will ever live in the memory of the exploited and the freedom loving people of the world!

2 October – Gandhi Jayanti

2nd October, Gandhi Jayanti, Gandhiji

Yes, 2nd October 2013 is the 144th Birthday Anniversary of the Father of Indian Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. 2nd October has been declared as a National Holiday by the government along with that of Independence Day (15th August) and Republic Day (26th January).

Gandhiji led the Independence movement for decades. The Indian people in lakhs and crores participated in the struggle and India got freedom on 15th August 1947. The struggle for Independence from the British imperialists is a heroic saga of sacrifice, struggle, failure and victory for about two centuries. The First War of Independence (1857-58) was the starting point, but there were struggles and wars earlier also against the British.

Gandhiji experimented with truth throughout his life. But what about the present day? Many politicians of the day are experimenting not with truth, but with corruption, deceit and violence.
Our Respectful Homage to the memory of the Father of the Nation!

Com.P.Mukundan expired

With deep sorrow and anguish it is intimated that Comrade P.Mukundan, veteran BSNLEU leader and one of the founders of the E.III(N) Union in Karnataka Circle breathed his last at 12.30 hours today, 18th September, at his home in Kundapur. He was ailing and was in hospital for some time. He was improving and was brought home. But all of a sudden it took a serious turn and he passed away, to the sorrow of all who knew him.
Com.Mukundan was a committed comrade who sacrificed every thing to serve the workers. I had the opportunity to tour many places in Karnataka, especially in South Kannada along with him, Com. Balan etc. to organise the union. He was simple, dedicated to the cause and committed to the union. We have lost a sincere comrade. He is survived by his wife and children.
My Heartfelt condolences to the family, comrades and friends in their great loss.

death anniversary, M.K.Pandhe

20th August 2013, is the second death anniversary of Com. M.K.Pandhe, the veteran Communist and the beloved leader of the working class.
A leader of the AITUC and later as the leader of the CITU after its formation for many decades, Com. Pandhe was in the forefront of the struggles of the workers. He functioned as the General Secretary and later as President of the CITU.
He was closely connected with the BSNLEU, BSNLCCWF as also AIBDPA since their formation in the first decade of the 21st century. He was guide and advisor to these organisations. We are proud to state that all these three organisations are the majority organisations in their respective sectors.
Comrade Pandhe was one of the architects of the united movement of the Central Trade Unions, which has now consolidated and joint struggles organised on the demands of the workers including the 48 hours strike on 20-21 February 2013, participated by about 12 crore workers.
On his second death anniversary, I pay my respectful homage!
Red salute to Comrade M.K.Pandhe!
