The huge election funds provided by the corporates and big business for BJP is being repaid by the NDA government many fold to the donors. The PSUs, the assets of the country are being handed over to them one after another.
The method is simple. Make the PSUs in to loss making by any method, just like purchasing more air crafts than required (Air India) or not purchasing equipment for development and expansion (BSNL). There are many other methods. After the profitable company becomes loss making, it can be handed over the private sharks to make profit for themselves.

The government is moving for privatising the rail links connecting the main railway lines with the coal blocks. With the new allocation of coal blocks and more mining, the rail links are going to be much profitable. When the rails are profitable, why it should be with Railways? It should be only with the private companies, as per government.
So, the existing rail links along with the new links, which they can construct will give a big profit. And of course, the profit should go to the corporates and hence they will be privatised.

| Press Statement
Six Left parties, the CPI, CPI(M), CPI(ML)-Liberation, AIFB, SUCI(C) and RSP have issued the following statement: Obama Visit: Observe Protest Day on January 24 The Modi government and the BJP have unleashed the forces of Hindutva which threatens the secular and democratic values of the Indian Republic. It is at such a juncture that the Government has invited President Obama of the United States of America to be the Chief Guest of the Republic Day on January 26. It is a supreme irony that the day which symbolizes India’s independence and sovereignty is being graced by the head of a country which has done the most to assault and destroy the sovereignty of many countries around the world. President Obama himself is responsible for the aggression in Libya and for the rerun of bombing and sending troops back to Iraq. The US is doing everything to destroy Syria as a national entity. The Left parties protest the visit of President Obama because: 1. The United States is targeting and destabilizing governments andcountries in West Asia by military interventions like in Iraq, Libya and Syria. 2. The United States is the patron and staunch supporter of Israel which occupies Palestinian land and Arab territories and subjects the Palestinian people to colonial oppression. 3. The United States has shifted a substantial part of its naval and military resources to Asia as part of the pivot of Asia and is creating new military bases and tensions in the Asia-Pacific region. 4. US intervention in Afghanistan and role inPakistan have nurtured fundamentalist forces, the disastrous consequences of which serve as a warning to India. 5. US which wages wars in the name of defending democracy, is facing massive protests at home against racial murders by its police force. Further the terrible record of torture and Islamophobic profiling by the CIA with the approval of the US government has recently exposed the US as amongst the worst violator of human rights and democracy in the world. The BJP government is pursuing a pro-US foreign policy which is contrary to an independent non-aligned foreign policy. This is being done in the interests of Indian and foreign monopoly capital. The Left parties strongly protest: The decision to renew the India-US Defence Framework Agreement for another ten years. This is a pact which will yoke India to American military strategy in Asia Seeking to pressurise India to change its foreign policy orientation vis a vis Palestine, Israel and Iran to suit US interests The relentless pressures exercised by the Obama administration on India to open up the financial sector to US capital, as a result of which the Modi government has promulgated an ordinance to allow 49 per cent FDI in the insurance sector. The strong pressure of the US to weaken the patents regime in India to benefit the US drug companies, so that they can sell drugs in India at high prices. America’s pressures that India to give up its food security programme by undermining public procurement and the public distribution system. US pressuring India to weaken laws that protect labour rights and environment, to benefit US corporations. The Obama-Modi efforts to dilute the civil nuclear liability law to favour US nuclear. The Left parties call for a Protest Day against the visit of President Obama on January 24. Halt US aggression Stop interference in India’s domestic matters Stop US-India strategic collaboration

Is the the NDA Government transforming itself in to an Ordinance Raj? It seems so.
After the winter session of the parliament is over, the NDA government has started issuing ordinances one after another. Three ordinances have already been issued viz. Insurance Act (Amendment) increasing FDI in Insurance sector from 26% to 49%, Coal Allotment Ordinance for allowing allotment of coal blocks to private companies and now the Land Acquisition (Amendment) Act making it easier to acquire the land even without the full consent of the owners.
What is the urgency to issue so many ordinances, which can be discussed in the next session and put for approval. Yes, these are all in the interest of the corporates, big business and MNCs and can not be delayed as the NDA is committed to them for the huge election funds donated.

” Nobody can argue that raising FDI in insurance, however desirable, is an emergency measure that can not wait. The ordinance is not the evidence of a strong government’s resolve, but a weak government’s incapacity…
” A Government that can’t get Parliament’s approval and repeatedly re-issue ordinances is clearly misusing the Constitution to rule by decree.”
( Extracts from an article by Swaminathan S.Ankalesari Iyer – TOI)
It is not only incapacity, but arrogance and anxiety to please the US and its President Barack Obama, by taking the decision before his arrival in India on 26th January 2015. The government also wanted to show India Inc that it has not forgotten the huge election donations made to the BJP by the corporates. The sky wouldn’t have fallen if the Insurance Amend Bill was kept for the next session of the Parliament.

In a meeting at Varanasi, yesterday, 25th December, Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured the railway workers that there will be no privatisation of Railways, but private investment will brought for improving and expanding the same.
No Privatisation is OK. It is the demand of the 13 lakhs of railway employees, who have strongly opposed the move and are preparing for a serious struggle against the same.
But the private investment in the railways and PPP is part of the game of the government to gradually hand over this important sector to the private companies. The workers have to be warned about the same.

As we stated earlier, the government is bent upon pushing the so called ‘reforms’ in the Insurance sector by increasing the FDI from 26% to 49%. This is being much pressed by the MNCs and corporates for a long time. Now they have got a government who are prepared to satisfy them. And lo! US President is also visiting India at the time of Republic Day.
Though the Insurance Amendment Bill could not be passed in the Rajya Sabha, the NDA government is not bothered. Now the cabinet has approved the ordinance to be issued in lieu of passing the Act. Corporates, MNCs and president Obama will be very happy.
Cabinet has also adopted ordinance on the Coal block allotment which was also pending.
We strongly oppose both the ordinances, which are only in the interests of the corporates and big business.

It is reported that the law ministry has informed that the list of black money holders before 2011 will not be supplied by the Swiss government since the agreement between the governments is only from 2011.
If the report is correct, this will mean that majority of the black money holders will be out of the inquiry and any action that may be taken. The big sharks are all going to be scotfree.
